Not holding my breath ![]()
Looks like you have 1 camera on a paid Cam Plus subscription.
If Lite were to go away in 2027, do you think you will keep your 1 Cam Plus subscription, add more cameras to Cam Plus or leave Wyze completely?
Just curious what other Lite users are planning.
That is a V4 and the spot where it is drives me crazy without subscription with all motion events. Single subscription is not too bad given that I don’t have to use different cameras.
Leave Wyze completely, Loyalty is a two way street. Heck, I might leave before the 2027 deadline.
Have you checked wyze.com to see if it says 2035 too?
2027 on wyze.com. ![]()

My App and the web site both say my Cam Plus Lite renews on Dec 23, 2027.
So is this supposed end to CamPlus Lite been confirmed in writing by Wyze?

I don’t believe anything in writing, just forum user speculation. My Cam Plus Lite account used to list 2071 as the renewal year a few months ago.
Now my lite account lists 2027 as the renewal year.
IMO, this topic is something that the forum mavens should be taking to WYZE employees. There is a lot of conflicting information floating around. It would be great to hear from a WYZE employee regarding this matter.
As of a few minutes ago, this is what my app states regarding the Cam Plus Lite service:
As of a few minutes ago, this is what the WYZE Web Portal states when I logon:
How in the heck are users supposed to know what to believe when WYZE is giving us inconsistent information? This is PAR for the WYZE course! ZERO accountability and lack of clear communication.
Let me share what brought me to Wyze cameras in January of 2022. There was a creepy guy the would walk through my neighborhood around midnight. Many nights he would sit on the curb across my street and watch my dog bark at him from an upstairs window.
He was not doing anything illegal but my wife asked me to install cameras. I did research and determined Wyze was a good camera to try. I tried one v3 on Cam Plus Lite and then add four more v3 cameras.
Four years later, my five Wyze Cam v3 cameras on Cam Plus Lite still meets my needs for my security hobby around my house.
If Wyze were to discontinue Cam Plus Lite for grandfathered users, I would do what I did in 2022. I would do research and see what company works best for my security hobby.
Ditto, no point beating a dead horse.
I rather be able to plan ahead versus being reactive. Different strokes for different folks. I find it odd that we have over 50 posts in this thread and nothing from a maven or anyone from WYZE.
Obfuscation and avoidance of accountability. It’s the WYZE way.
They updated the Cam Plus Lite FAQ 9 months ago.
https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415330946075-Cam-Plus-Lite-FAQ
This Q/A is concerning to me. So if I assign Cam Plus license to my V3 camera then unassign it, I will never able to assign Cam Plus Lite to that camera ever again?
Can I go back to Cam Plus Lite if I sign up for Cam Plus, etc.?
No, you cannot downgrade to Cam Plus Lite if you upgrade to Cam Plus, Cam Unlimited, or Cam Unlimited Pro. If you upgrade to Cam Unlimited or Cam Unlimited Pro, which covers all of your cameras*, be sure to cancel Cam Plus Lite so that you aren’t still charged (especially if you used the Name-Your-Price or suggested price option).
Yeah, I am with you Salor. Keep in mind what I said about obfuscation. The FAQ reads one way, but this video I just created on my Android devices says something else. Also, please know that I am not a “new user”, mentioned in the FAQ, and have been with WYZE since 2018. Thus maybe things work differently for us ‘old timers’?
I am venting my frustration with this increase.
Long term Wyze user with the lite tier with 2 cameras. Wyze lured me in with the cheap camera price and good quality. I was satisfied with the price and performance.
This is until I got hold of a doorbell duo recently, the thing never worked properly. Notifications take 10 seconds to show up, call feature never worked, it would just spin and spin when i try to answer any calls. Everytime there was someone at the door, the camera would default to 1 fps and not in real time (1 fps in slow motion). I even bought a Wyze branded sd card and nothing improves. My hardware is all updated and wifi access point is right beside the doorbell.
The increase in price is touted as ‘increase in cloud costs’. OK? I would happily take that cloud processing off your hands IF YOU LET ME. All I needed was for notification and phone access to work better, and the app is designed so that you are forced to look at the cloud events first, why not just let me see the local events instead?
This is done on purpose to annoy the user and force them onto the now very expensive 6 dollar a month cloud plan per device. I have used this product for it to finally become the villain. Now my cameras are dead weight and I don’t have the heart to even offload them onto marketplace for the measely amount of money I may get for them, only for the next bagholder to be taken advantage of by Wyze.
I have just installed several Reolink cameras to replace my Wyze system setup with HomeAssistant, and cannot be happier. Adios.
Same here started Wyze in the early days of V2 before the “Big Change” to their business model…
Went with Reolink also ![]()
When you factor in the cost of subscription and other Wyze issues, buying that slightly more expensive Reolink ends up being a far better option.
I am planning ahead, I’m researching and weighing my options. At the moment, I don’t have an issue and no need to take any action.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
The problem is Cam Unlimited. Once you get that subscription all your cameras get transferred to it automatically and you can’t assign them back to CamLite. Ask me how I know? ![]()
Ah, thanks for that very important detail and clarification! It appears WYZE needs to update that FAQ and remove Cam Plus. (Another PAR for the WYZE obfuscation course.) You have just reaffirmed that there is no chance in high heaven that I will ever purchase an unlimited plan. What a shame to learn that this is how WYZE operates. Essentially punishing customers that qualify for indefinite unlimited Cam Plus Lite when they subscribe to an unlimited plan for X amount of time.
As some might say that’s
!
