Same issue.
My guess: wyze is trying to save cloud storage costs. Shorter clips = less bandwidth + less storage space = save money.
Btw, their camera quality video is compressed like crazy. Very difficult to see clearly. Even at 2k.

Happens to be all the time. But with people. My neighborâs sister was literally charged with murdering a small child my cameras were the last things to capture her whereabouts the night before their disappearance and for some reason the only thing my cameras captured was her getting in her car and leaving didnât capture her getting out of her car walking up to the house checking the mail walking back through the yard or walking back to her vehicle it just decided it didnât want to and this happens all the time and Iâve been complaining about it for a year now and wyze never does anything to fix it. Just some pre-typed template responses over and over again.
My camera sensitivity is set all the way at 100. All eventa are within the viewing range, this happens in daylight, dusk or dark. My IR night vision is actived but ive tried every version of all the settings. And this happens on three different types of cameras so itâs not a camera issue it is literally a wyze issue.
Sorry Iâm not sure how to reply to a specific comment but in regards to the clock fashion lawsuit and the response to it about the terms of service and the gap of recording I pay for a cam unlimited subscription theyâre supposed to be unlimited full event recording with no delay in new events so yeah thatâs the terms of service but yet I get a recording for 13 seconds and then the next event has 30 seconds to two and a half minute Gap even though itâs the same event it never should have stopped recording in the first place I would upload an example but it wonât let me since Iâm a new user
While itâs true the average cloud event is about 12~15 seconds, itâs not always so. I was surprised to find one recorded by one of my cameras that lasted 2.5 minutes. Itâs just the way the software is. I wonât be surprised if thereâs an actual maximum because cloud storage is expensive.
I do have an SDcard and for those short recordings, I fall back to the SDcard and itâs usually longer.
Same here!
Same problem here. Most events are about 12- 20 seconds, Occasionally one will be 2-3 minutes but many seem to start after or end before the motion is happening/finished. Kind of useless for a security camera. I am wondering if just chucking the Cam plus entirely and putting SD cards in them is the way to go?
Another annoyance with this is the OG cameras which can have a motion warning turned on to have the cam either say a recording is being made or make a tone. Nice idea but if you happen to be in range of one and the recordings are only 12 seconds it goes off every 12 seconds so you end up just turning the notifications off, again missing the point of having a security camera.
And yes I have fiddled with sensitivity etc.
I totally agree. We all have to accept these are not professional security, monitoring cameras. For that we need to spend real money on a real professional camera system. I still like Wyze for itâs value, itâs gimmick but that is all. Even this forum is not run professionally. You have certain people who are nothing but apologists for Wyze and offer no positive feedback. So itâs all what it is. I personally donât want to do the SD card and spend that money and all that time. These cameras are good for catching animals and the UPS man on a camera and that is all. But hey, they work! And that is a good thing.
Itâs already on my Wi-Fi, why it canât just save it to my Cloud.
My Cloud!
iCloud or Google either one.

At least your cam plus is working. I purchased the cam plus in September or October when they had a $7.99 a month unlimited plan, which worked until Jan 2024 and then just stopped working. Talking to support by voice or chat worked for a few day then it would stop working again. All the time they kept charging me, even after I asked for a refund and the service to work, No such luck. Now they have also changed the 30 days to 14 without lowering the price, and stoped continous as well. Greedy owners now and their helping with less expensive plan out the window.
