Stuck Loading Live Stream

I have 6 cameras on my network which are a mix of wyze cam v4 and v3. In the last few weeks I am continually having a problem when i select to view one of the cameras in the Wyze iOS app it sits on loading live stream step 1 of 3. Not all cameras have this problem at the same time, but at least one camera will have every time I go into the app to view the streams. I have to force close the app several times before the steam will finally load for viewing.

I have gone through each camera and reset services and that did not seem to fix the issue. Any idea what would all of a sudden be causing this issue?

You should pull the power plug for the cam that gets stuck at 1 of 3 then plug it back in and see if it will load.

I have all my cams on smart plugs so I can power cycle the cams with my phone.

Thanks, I will give it a try. They all get stuck at some point. Everytime i go into the app at least one of the 6 cameras have this problem.

Have you tried rebooting your router? The fact that it isn’t the same cam every time makes me wonder if something just needs to be cleared out in your router, they often have memory leaks and things freeze up.

I have done all that several times. Most of the time it seems to be a new v4 cam that i replaced with my v3 due to microphone static. The V4 when loading up the app struggles to show current view in the live stream screen. I’m going to take the new v4 out of the mix and put the v3 back and see if that fixes the issue.

I finally found that the new Wyze cam v4 that i added was the culprit. Whenever I would go into the app the camera at times would struggle to connect. Other times it would connect right away. Took it off the network and put the v3 back on and all the problems went away. I have two other v4 cams and none of them have this problem.

OK, based on the original post it sounded like it was multiple cams. If it is just that one, yeah I’d exchange it. I suppose a cam having issues could potentially affect other cams in the app too, especially if you have your home screen set to play all the feeds, or are trying to view a cam group etc.

#1 Unplug Camera for FULL 30 seconds (Soft Reset) (Then plug back in)

#2 While unplugged go into your IOS/ANDROID Settings & " CLEAR CATCHE”

#3 Go Into Setting of Camera. Hit “Restart Serive’s" THEN " Restart Camera” (IN THIS ORDER!!!

(REPEAT :repeat_button: MULTIPLE TIMES IF NECESSARY) THIS WORKS GREAT FOR ME. IT MAKES US ALL NOT STUCK AT THAT LOADING SCREEN ALL THE TIME. I DO #3 DAILY NOW. QUICK N EZ

Summary: I have 3x Wyze Pan V4 & my cameras do the same thing. I’ve had them 2-3 weeks. I’m new to Wyze. Also get the subscription from the Official Wyze Website IF you want it like I do as if you go to the Google Play Store & possibly the IOS APP Store you have to pay MUCH MORE for each subscription plan. Instead of $2.99 it’s $4.99. Instead of $10 it’s $14. Instead of $20 it’s $25 or $26. SO DON’T GET TRAPPED INTO A BAIT :mouse_trap: & SWITCH LIKE I DID. Also know when you add your debit/credit card to the store They take a dollar for me even though they say they don’t take anything. I was on the phone with customer service trying to figure out why I was getting charged more and she told me don’t worry I won’t get charged The second I put my debit card in I got charged. shaking my head. I was pretty pissed. I’m a new user and I got price gouged then a dollar take it for me as I’m on the phone with them and they told me that it wasn’t going to happen. And then of course right after I buy my three pan 4’s It becomes $30 cheaper like 3 days later if I have bought it from there app/Amazon prime under the shop icon on the WYZE app.

My system includes 5 v4 cams and two floodlights for a total of seven cameras.

When loading all seven cameras, at least one, but often two cameras get consistently stuck at step 1.

I have found that if I shut down one or two of the other cameras that loaded correctly that the two that are stuck will finally load.

I have seen it happen on any of the V4 cams, but two seem to be more consistent. I believe that is because of the order in which they are loaded, and not something specific to a particular camera.

Apparently there is a magic threshold as to the number of cameras the app can easily support dimultaneously.

The threshold seems to be 3 or 4 cams depending on model and some other factors. Wyze is aware, a new app just got released, have not tested yet to see if it fixed anything or not.

I updated both the app and the 5 v4 cams and the two floodlight cams and everything now loads quickly as you would expect.

Hidden in the release notes for the camera firmware update is a messsge saying that you have to update both the app and the cameras. That did the trick for me.

V4 cams: 4.52.9.6119

App: v3.13.0

Floodlights: 4.53.11.4745

That floodlight that u update Is the v2 which is ok. The pro is the problem stuck on 2/3 never connects on cell only WiFi
