Stop Detecting Ceiling Fans

I pay for your paid service first of all. Why do you have smart cameras that act dumb? Just write some code and update the software on all your pan cams with motion detection turned on to stop them from looking at ceiling fans all day and not my family and pets. I bought them for safety of my entire home and not a personal bodyguard for my ceiling fan. Please don’t say set way points because it does not allow me to view correctly. It is a pan cam and i did not buy it to be stationery. It will not be hard to write some code to get it to stop detecting ceiling fans. Its been a problem with all your pan cams and with version 3 and multiple software updates you would have figured this would of been fixed.

Be aware that this is primarily a user to user forum, if you want to get wyze’s attention you could try opening a support ticket, but you’ll probably get an “operating as expected” type response. I believe there are some applicable topics in the “wishlist” forum that you could vote on also.

But also know that “track motion” is not impacted by subscriptions, smart detections, or even 'detection zone". It will track any and all motion that it sees. The only thing that affects it is the “motion sensitivity” setting which may or may not help. The other option is to place the cam and set the “home” position in a spot where it is less likely to start seeing the ceiling fan and thus track it, perhaps up higher and angled down.

Would be nice to be able to set the limits of where the camera pans to or allow it to ignore certain areas but unfortunately that doesn’t exist. It isn’t a software issue as like I said the motion tracking does not upload anything to wyze for image analysis before tracking, since that would take too long for tracking to be useful.

Sounds like the OP has a Cam Plus subscription. Another tip would to filter Cloud Event video viewing to maybe Person only.

Should be a lot fewer videos to swipe through.

It sounds like the issue is that with track motion enabled it stares at the fan for long periods and is not looking at the area of interest, unfortunately there is nothing in Cam Plus that can change that, only physically getting the fan out of view. Track Motion is a very basic feature that is just looking at pixel changes.
