Still getting motion notifications with notifications disabled

I just upgraded my dead cam v2 to a cam v3 for my garage. I had my wife install the iPhone app so I could share the camera with her (so she could check if the garage door was left open or not). We have a light that keeps coming on/off in the garage, so she is getting a lot of popup notifications. I had her disable notifications for the app in Apple settings, and also disable all the notifications (in-app, push, and text), but she still gets motion notifications. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Has your wife rebooted the iPhone lately? That is very strange to still get notifications when toggled off in the iPhone settings.

Also, I give my wife my user name and password and have her login on her iPad instead of Sharing to her account. We both can turn on and off Notifications with no problem.

Thanks. I think it is working now. I just triggered the camera and I got the notification and she did not. Having her own account lets her configure the notifications differently than I do.

Keep in mind “shared” accounts have some quirks - your notification settings apply to her Wyze app, and the only way for her to disable them is via IOS like she has (so basically all or nothing). Whereas you can turn them on or off for specific cameras in the app itself. In your case this may be fine (she wants no notifications), just a heads up.

The other thing to bear in mind is the shared account can create rules, and those rules are not visible to you (and yours are not visible to them). The rules can end up conflicting with each other, and they also affect both accounts (even though you can’t see them, they’re happening to you). So generally I’d say make sure she doesn’t create any rules (now called automations) in her account and you just set them in yours to keep it simple.

It has been a while since I toyed with a guest account to see how it all worked. I think some of the stuff affected only the guest account, and other stuff affected all accounts. To keep it simple I’d just say don’t change settings or set automations in the guest account at all.
