Recently switch internet services provider and received new router. Couldn’t get smart plug to connect to wifi. Then learned smart plug don’t handle modem speeds about 2.4 Ghz. AT&T router is at 5 Ghz. Any chance Wyze will update their technology to handle faster speed. Other-wyze (LOL) will have to get rid of the plugs and find other solution
Speed has nothing to do with it. The Wyze devices operate only on the 2.4 GHz frequency band. I would confirm that the new WiFi really can’t handle the 2.4 GHz band - VERY few general purpose WiFi access points are 5 GHz only.

What model router? should be able to tell tech specs if it is only 5ghz and how to toggle the radios on the thing.

Yea, if ATT gave you a 5ghz only AP, your going to have a lot of issues down the road… hardly any smart devices support 5ghz because there is no reason to do so.

I predict, I suspect its a 5G Home Internet modem device, but is a 2.4/5GHz WiFi internal router. And someone simply is unfamiliar with that nomenclature.
