During live view, at certain times the cameras seem to glitch out a bit.
It causes traffic that is passing by to become very difficult to track when looking for a spacifix vehicle. The cars appear to be traveling slow but then video leaps the vehicles up about 100 feet. Looking for advice, theorys, opinions, solutions, anything. I have my own opinions and theorys and would like to know what others think.
Almost certainly wifi signal (either not strong enough or interference).
- Make a note Note of the time of the event
Sometimes if you move the timeline slider back and forth a few times the video will play without skips. If all else fails and it is an important event remove the card and play it back on a different device with a card reader.
The playback is fine. It is only with the live view that this happend and only at certain times.
It isnt all the time. Only for breif (about 30 mins) periods 3 or 4 times a day.
Yeah, that still fits, around 6-8PM here I start getting stuttering when lots of people are home and using the internet (and causing wifi channel saturation). People are also using microwave ovens and various other things.
You can try getting a stronger signal to your cameras which will help, or changing your wifi channels.
If your router has anything about “beamforming” or “airtime fairness” on the 2.4ghz band, disable that. There are various other tweaks you can try in wifi settings too, but depends on what router you have and what it lets you adjust. Easiest may just be to try getting your router up higher and/or closer to the cams.
