The Perseid meteor shower is one of the most prolific meteor showers of the year. The shower is active from mid-July until late August and will peak on the night of Aug. 12, before dawn on Aug. 13, 2025.
Nice! You caught a good one!
That was indeed a nice capture. But why is the sky so blurry? I have the same issue with my Cam V3 and trying to figure how can I see the dark sky with lots of stars. What do you think could be hindering the quality?
Compression artifacts, nothing you can do about it.
I am re-posting a meteor my v3 cameras captured in Sept 2024. Here is my backyard v3.
And if you watch closely you will see the reflection in my neighbor’s upstairs window.
It was the thin high cloud cover that made it look larger in the sky so blurry. Great shot though especially the window reflection, that was awesome!
That was fantastic!
We’re supposed to be getting a lot more over the next week or so, I will keep on searching.
It’s very difficult since we can’t easily scrub through these videos, to find a one or two second event in 9 or 10 hours of darkness is really challenging. Especially since I have 5 different cameras looking up at the sky, that’s 40 hours of Video to scrub through each day.
I know there’s stuff I’ve missed! For some reason the motion doesn’t trigger an event, so I just have to keep on watching through hours, and hours of video to find any.
And again, the thin high serious clouds were dispersing the light as well.
Got another one last night over PA!
