Setting up App to give access to one shared camera

In addition to our home install I have now added a remote camera to monitor elderly relative. All working fine on my phone
Now put the App on wifes phone and setup options are “Add your first device” or "Tap to set up "
Neither of those options seem to let me set it up to access a shared remote camera, just the normal camera type set up i.e. Ready to connect etc

How can I set up the new app to just have access to this one camera shared from my app
TIA

Solved
Ah - It OK - There was a problem on my phone
Sharing was not actually set correctly
So the Share has be enabled FIRST and you can ignore the setup requests on the new app
Once the Share is enabled - it pops up in the app automatically regardless of those setup options - so they can be ignored

Biggest issue with sharing cameras is that the shared user will get NO ACCESS to historic recordings. They can only access live feed and garage operation. No playback.
This is the case with the Wyze Garage Controller with Cam v3. :broken_heart:

Why has @SupportTeam #Wyze not created an ACL page for each share, so can control what access control they have?
For example:

  • View access
  • Operate (open/close/pan/tilt)
  • Playback (PVR / History, Save/Export)
  • Record (live view, save photo / video)
  • Automations
  • Change settings
  • Share permissions
  • etc…

Requests to this effect have been made in this longstanding Wishlist topic:

According to one of the founders, that topic should be getting some more attention.

Probably easier to just have your wife share the login that you use (unless you don’t want her seeing all cams). Then you both have the same controls and things can’t conflict with each other. If all she’s doing is viewing live stream then guest accounts are fine, but any more than that and you’ll start to find the limitations, and you can even do things that will affect the other person (like disable alerts or create automations) without knowing it.

Agreed. But it’s not even limited. It’s completely crippled.

Maybe free users could share and expose 7-30 days of recordings, or specific date(s).
But paid users should be able to make groups of cameras and share a group (or individual) cameras for a date range of 6 months (for example).

I just keep getting the impression the Wyze “team” isn’t very large, or only have a couple in R&D for said features…

If only it was open source. They could benefit from an active community.

I just don’t have time posting requests and wishes. My experience to date with Wyze is that they don’t care… They already have decided what they’re working on in the pipeline.
Unfortunate…

Quite a while ago Wyze said they need to hire a ton of workers. I wouldn’t hire by weight. They should change their hiring process to hire smart techs, no matter of weight.

I get the same impression. With the exception of issues introduced by app or firmware updates, I don’t hold my breath for new features on existing cams. New features come on new cams.
