Secure your own Wyze Lock Bolt today! - 4/19/22

I guess that’s the full trade off. Seems like a slight oversight to not include the option. No control when away and guessing no notifications of access either.

The Wyze Lock Bolt was meant to solve a different need and reach a lower price point than the Wyze Lock. So in that aspect it is a trade off. I will however give the team the feedback.

I get that and it’s not keeping me from buying two to replace the Wyze locks I currently have. Just think a wifi gateway would be a great additional product add-on for those of us that would like it. Wyze seems to always encompass all sides of the product, and the gateway would definitely do that.

I agree with you there

I had the same issue earlier this morning. I posted on Facebook and a few people said it worked for them using the app.

I tried the app and sure enough I got the $10 discount AND saved $4 in shipping costs. SCORE!

I was using the website and I saw the discount after I logged in too. But it was when I went to check out that the discount disappeared. But, it worked using the app.

Discount problem solved. I just tried ordering the new door lock from the app and the discount for being a Cam Plus subscriber was automatically applied.

It’s been a hassle for me to shop Wyze products using the Safari web browser from my Mac or iPhone. I like using Safari because of its integration with my Apple account, It pre-fills forms and confirmation codes, but the Wyze site isn’t Safari friendly. I’ll often get to the point of entering a confirmation code and I’ll get an error message and have to use the Chrome browser to complete a purchase.

I’ll be shopping Wyze products from the app from now on. It knows who I am and it’s a lot easier to confidently make the purchase.

I was able to still see it when I went to check out so hopefully they got it fixed.

I am glad the app worked for you

It is nice to see Wyze’s interest in new products, however, does it not reduce the resources to enhance the cameras or did you hire new people for the new lock product.
Again definitely nice to see new products. The Cams were new at one point!!

Many of us would really like to see additional functionality, some of it fairly basic, on the existing Pan V2 and Cam V3. Regards

even most if not all keyless vehicles have a physical backup key inside their remotes … just in case.

The teams are different so they were not pulling resources to make the new product. There are still teams that work on the cams. I know there are many things people would like implemented or fixed in the other products. With the Fix-it-Friday they are trying to get more of the larger bugs taken care of and I am making sure the Wishlist items get seen by the proper teams to see if things can be implemented

Thanks!!! :slightly_smiling_face:

After I completed the order in the app, I went back to the website and the error had been fixed.

And now I see on the website that the WCO V2 is offered. Did I miss that announcement? I don’t see it on the app though. Strange.

I like the look and construction of it but that is where my likes end. As a smart home company, over-looking or intentionally leaving out the ability to remotely monitor the lock status and the ability to remotely lock/unlock while not only away but if out of range in a larger home, takes what looks like would be an awesome addition to my smart home and completely turns me (and I am sure others) off from yet another product I would have been ecstatic to purchase and yet again leaves me completely let down, again.

Ordered mine today! Just curious why the bolt doesn’t work with the Lock Gateway, and should I hang on to mine incase it is coming?

I guess it was a cost thing? I notice it’s cheaper than lock, but includes fingerprint.

Just saw that LifeHackster somewhat reviewed the Wyze Lock Bolt:

So… not sure who dropped the ball on this Wyze Lock Bolt, but up here in Canada, we have many, many, MANY, days in which the temperature drops below the Wyze keypad’s “operating temperature” of -25 degrees Celsius (-13F)?? Very disappointing release guys…

Others were asking for the Certifications for this which weren’t prominently displayed on the main product page, so posting in here to answer for those wondering:

Wyze Lock Bolt is rated ANSI/BHMA Grade 3 and has a UL10c 20-minute fire test rating.

As an explanation, to be certified as Grade 3:

The UL 10C 20-minute certification means that when subjected to extreme heat (1925 degrees F) it remained in frame with no through openings and limits flames for at least 20 minutes.

This new product had me very excited as I am in the market to purchase a smart lock so my son can leave and come home from school without me worrying whether or not he locked up. I had the lock in my cart and I stopped short of checking out. The problem I have is like several others that have already posted. I need to know the lock status at all times, which would require wifi connectivity. I don’t care if it’s got wifi built in or if it requires a bridge, but it absolutely must have this function for me to purchase. Heck, if they’d have said that they were currently developing a solution for future addition of wifi functionality, I would have finished my purchase yesterday. Until then, my wallet is primed to purchase an Ultraloq.
