Sdcard not recognized thru events

Thanks for info, I was concerned the it was a marketing/sales ploy. But your findings and all the others having the problem indicates a defect in the latest batch of Ver 3 cameras.

Wyze needs to address this issue.

I don’t think it is the latest batch. I installed another V3 two weeks before the newest and had to update the firmware six times to get current, the newest and problem cam had to update the firmware four times, something went astray?

Does Wyze support monitor the forum discussions? If anyone has a support case/ticket, any followup or is this a defect for warranty return? My v3 presenting this problem is brand new. Does anyone know if this problem recently presented? If not present in past, this could be firmware vs hardware issue.

I am running the latest firmware on all cameras, early Ver 3 no problem, new Ver 3 have the problem. I suspect it is a hardware problem. From the event screen playback fails but Livestream works. It is like the playback button has been disabled.

Out of curiosity, is everyone using an aftermarket SD card? Is anyone using a Wyze SD card and experiencing the same issue?

I hav the same problem. Get the no sd card message on events page but can view playback on the camera page. Another example of Wyze’s buggy software.

I wanted to make sure everyone on this thread saw this post in the April Fix it Friday. When you post a log number be sure to tag WyzeJasonJ so he will see your log number.

The engineers are looking into this. If this is happening to you, can you submit a log and let me know the log number?

In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks."

How many logs are needed? Logs are used mainly to establish the defect point in the code. But here the bug is very distinct; we have the exact error message. Search the code for this string and you trace your way back to the problem.

It usually is a problem when there are many code execution paths that lead to this bug. I don’t believe that’s the case here. It used to work. It’s a recent change. Consider, too that there’s a good way to to view the SDcard using another UI path. Compare those two and you have a fix. What’s taking so long? I’m beginning to think that Wyze assigned ths bug to its least experienced developer.

I agree, we should not have to submit multiple Logs. However, if it helps resolve the bug I will continue to submit them. Here is my most recent Log number: 1382628

They know and said they are working on it:

No response to my inquiry and I have a return label to process but was hoping they would at minimum acknowledge the problem and promise to fix it. No response is not a good sign or practice for a company that is interested in long term survival.

I thought one of the messages mentioned that the engineers were working on a solution. May take a while.

Months later and I’m still experiencing this very issue. All my Cam V3’s are on the latest firmware, yet only 1 of the 6 have working SD card playback directly from the Event view. The one working one, just so happens to be the oldest one of the batch. @WyzeJasonJ do you have any more updates on this? It seems Wyze once again is dragging their feet.

Wyze please advise if the latest can v3 should be returned, or where v3 cams sold with hardware defect and best to be replaced as a warranty situation? Lack of updates and feedback is concerning. I also have a ticket open for this issue.

Is it too much to label that camera, “Free” and leave it outside? Other people will appreciate it. It’s IP-65 :joy:
