SD Card stops working in Wyze Cam Pan v2

When I click playback view it says no SD card available I have a SD card on my camera, this issue happened to me before and I fix it very easy by updating the firmware so can you guys please release new firmware update just to fix this issue

The latest firmware was just up dated in August.,do you have it?

4.49.13.0653 (August 8, 2024)

Are you sure your SD card hasn’t reached the end of its life and gone read only (or totally unreadable)?

Yes I have this framework I know it’s

I have three other cameras they are working just fine and one of them it’s the same the one I have issue with so it’s not SD card issue because it was working just fine

I don’t understand your reply. Are you saying the same SD card works for long periods in your other cameras? If not, then the other cameras are irrelevant, this particular SD card may have reached the end of its life, they can only write so much data before they wear out.

If you’re positive the SD card is fine, then my guess is the camera and/or SD card slot is dying. Firmware update isn’t going to help that. While they may have had an SD issue in the past that firmware fixed, I expect there would be a lot more complaints if it was a firmware issue now (nor would it have just started out of the blue for you).

One thing you can try is trying to clean the SD card contacts in the camera. There are a couple ways to do this (and none are officially supported by Wyze, do at your own risk). One is to first clean the contacts on the SD card, then wet them with a bit of rubbing alcohol (92% preferably, but 70% will work). May want to use a junk SD card for this purpose. While the contacts are wet, insert and remove it from the camera several times. Wipe the contacts off again, and repeat the process. Let it dry for a bit then try it out.

The other method is to shoot some contact cleaner down in there. Not a ton, just a quick shot. CRC QD is good and inexpensive, WD-40 also makes one (Not normal WD-40, the “Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner”). Spraying it alone may be enough, but working an SD card in and out several times will help it work (followed by a final shot to rinse the contacts off, then let it dry).

Again, try at your own risk, but if the cam is not working and is out of warranty, not a whole lot of risk. Honestly, maybe consider a new Pan v3, not too expensive and a huge step up over the v2.

What I meant is I have 4 cameras and 4 SD card for each camera has one SD card OK three cameras the playback working just fine only 1 camera I get issue with it, the same issue happened to me two months ago but I just did update firmware and it just magically worked just fine, so can you guys release new firmware update just to flash the SD card to make it work again

Nobody here can release a new firmware update, we don’t work for Wyze. Try formatting the SD card, and if that doesn’t work, try a new SD card. Most likely your SD cards are wearing out and need to be replaced.

If 3 cameras are working fine, it is not firmware.

Most likely the last firmware update, it was just the fact that it rebooted the camera that fixed it, not the firmware itself. Have you tried restarting the camera with the problem?

Have you done any troubleshooting with these? If you take the SD card from the camera with the issue and put it in a known good camera, does it work? If you take a known good SD card and put it in the known bad camera, does that work? This process should help you determine where the problem lies, does it follow the card to the new camera? Or does it stay at the camera with the known good card?

I would think it’s more the action of the camera restarting, then the update of the firmware making the SD card record again. Have you tried restarting the cameras on a regular schedule or whenever you’re having problems otherwise?

One thing you can try is to use a scheduled automation to restart the camera on some schedule that you determine. Does it need to be everyday? Every other day once a week? Depends on how often you’re having problems but with the automations it’s set it and forget it. So I have my cameras restart every night at a odd hours.
