Following a recent update my V3 no longer has the ability to go back or forward by 30 seconds when viewing SD Card playback, just a red timeline bar that I can drag but hard to get on an exact time.
Is there something I’m missing or is this a so called ‘improvement’ ??
The 30-second forward/backward icons are still there on my V3s, but only when a video clip is playing. I miss the old timeline arrows that reposition it to the next clips.
For fine-grain timeline control, you can stretch it by pinch-hitting.
Thanks for the advice re ‘pinching’ the timeline. I now see what they have done and its a really positive improvement as it makes finding a particular time really easy.
I just wish Wyze had communicated what they had done as its much better that just 30 sec steps !!!
Compressing/stretching the timeline has been there a long time, but I think it was only recently added to the V3. Very handy, especially if you record “Continuous”.
I faced the same issue on my V3 after the update. At first, it irritated me but after restarting the app and updating the firmware, the timeline controls came back.
The only reason I could think is upgrading a very useful app to the current app is to steer you into a paid subscription, (which is not going to happen with me), So basically I have 5 Wyze cam 3 cameras that are just going to be an aggravation to monitor until I can get them replaced. I won’t be bullied into signing up for a monthly bill.
All of my cameras are changed to this new frustrating design, I don’t know how to view my playback anymore……why did they “fix” something that was not broke??? This is confusing…can someone tell me how do I get back to the old 30-second playback?
Hi, suddenly yesterday the format of my Wyze ap changed significantly in appearance. I lost the ‘view playback’ and 30sec rewind/forward wind options which was very frustrating.
After a lot of digging around it does appear that the view playback option is gone. As far as I can tell, the only way to go back is to go into ‘events’ and start viewing from one of the events listed on the timeline.
As for the 30sec option, select SD card under your live video and then hold your finger on the video and the pause and 30sec etc options become visible.
Use 2 fingers to touch stretch or compress the timeline. It’s like an accordion.
While touching near the ends of the timeline with 2 fingers, move your fingers closer; that will compress the timeline. Move them away from each other; that will stretch the timeline.
They think they will get more money by getting more subscribers but the opposite will happen. Very sad move from Wyse to remove the SD card playback function to go from 1 video to the next by pressing the arrows we had.
This new version is horrible. Even with the slider and pinching to get closer time frames…if you hit the 30 second button, there is such a delay. The slider button skips all over the place…and not continuous playback. Very frustrating. I used this function multiple times on a daily basis. Might be time to find new cameras that has this feature. I loved using the playbacks.
We do have the subscription…nothing different on the slidder on there. Still slow and so glitchy when you press the 30 second delay button.
Very sad with the new changes. Just do not work well for us.
