I put a microSD card in my pan-3 camera but there is no “video playback” button at the bottom of the screen. All it says is “recent events”. I did find continuous recording with the “microSD card” in the menu beneath the video… is that where it actually is?
Also… is there no way to scroll through the video? I can move it to a certain time but can’t “review” it by moving the slider. This is a feature I am used to with another camera system. It seems kinda useless to have continuous recording if I can’t quickly scan it to look for something. Like, if I know something happened overnight but I have no idea when, there would be no way for me to pick the correct time. I could have it capture events but if it gets triggered every time a car goes by, that’s still a lot of video to review. Honestly, these cameras don’t seem all that useful as an actual security system.
The Recent Events that show in the bottom pane of the Live Stream don’t link to the Playback and there is no “Jump To” link button that will take you to that event on the SD Card. That is something that has been requested though.
You can open the SD Card Viewer by pressing the SD card icon on the toolbar:
There, you can scroll thru the footage on the SD Card by dragging the timeline up and down. You can expand or compress the time interval on the timeline by pinching in or out left to right on the timeline.
If you want to “Jump To” the exact time on the SD card of a Recent Event that was uploaded to the Cloud Server (all events are uploaded and played from the server, not the SD) you will need to open the Events Tab, play the video, then select the SD Card Playback Icon at the bottom where it will launch the SD Card Playback Viewer and index the timeline to the moment that event happened.
There is no way to speed up the SD Card Player. The only options are 30s forward and 30s back. The only way to navigate to a different time is to scroll the timeline.
I can’t get the “pinch” to work on my iPhone. With the scroll, I can move back and forth through time but it skips, it’s not like fast-forward or rewind where I see every second but at a faster speed.
Since the time line in the “new” user interface is vertical, it is counter intuitive, but pinch horizontal and it should work. I’m sure a left over from the old UI where the timeline was horizontal.
Correct. There is no fast forward (also called scrub at times). That has been requested for a long time.
There won’t be any dots placed onto your screen. My screen record program places those there so that you can see where my fingers were touching the screen pinching and spreading. You need to do the same thing on your screen with your fingers as the dots did, pinch and spread.
When you spread out your fingers, the timeline will expand and you will get a finer control over your scrolling. Pinching compresses it and the timeline units get larger.
For my Wyze Cam Pan v3 when I used the Events Tab the SD Card Playback Icon is greyed out and not enabled.

For Pan v3 the SD Card Icon is enabled on the tool bar and I can see my recorded video and events (at least the time, I have to search for them) on the time line. When I go to the Events Tab the SD Card Playback Icon is greyed out and not enabled.
The SD Card Playback Icon is enabled in the Events Tab for all of my Wyze Cam v3’s.
I have a 128Gb SD, the 4.50.3.4240 camera firmware, and I am not a subscriber.
