SD Card issue with V3 cams

I am having an issue with 2 of my V3 cam not recording to SD cards in rainy conditions while they are mounted upside down. Is this a common problem ? They both work just fine when in dry environment and mounted right side up.

Are the cameras exposed to the rain or are they at least somewhat protected from the rain (under eves for example)? Lots of reports that if the camera is upside down and exposed to rain, the water will puddle on top of the rubber cover for the µSD card and it WILL leak eventually.
I have several mounted upside down well under the eves for several years and have not had a problem, and for about a year one completely exposed to the rain, but mounted right side up with no problems so far.

Looking close on one of my V3‘s that’s having an issue, I find that water has definitely seeped into the camera either through the speaker or SD card cover even though the SD card cover has been securely sealed with the flap. I’m trying to solve the rain leakage into the camera issue by mounting the camera at a slight angle rather than totally upside down. Also, I have used black electricians tape to cover the speaker opening on the cam and also extra sealing on the SD flap. Additionally, I have put the camera into one of those black silicon cases, even though I don’t think that will help because that case doesn’t cover the speaker or SD card cover. I do have other cameras outside that are exposed to the same amount of rain that this problem camera has without issue. However, those cameras are not mounted upside down. Thanks THUTCH4.

This was the set up before I put the V3 in a case and put electricians tape over the SD card slot and speaker opening. I am pretty sure the speaker is where the water seeped into the camera and caused issues.
