RTSP without Wyze app

They were really great when they first started selling them!! But no . . . they just had to experiment with them!! I am not a test dummy, don’t even want to know what all the changes are!!

All that just to make a $25 camera work?? No Thanks!!
Remember the old saying: “If it works, don’t ix it”!!
Sadly, they ‘fixed it’!!

That’s their motto, “If it ain’t broke, we’ll fix it.”

It’s so difficult to understand how different people have similar hardware with totally different problems.
I have 8 cameras, 7 in and around my home and one 40 miles away. I have no connection isdues right now. It wasn’t always the case. The latest beta app and firmware seem to have actually improved connection speed and reliability.

When you factor in routers and ISP’s and connection type and speed, plus local sources of interference etc, the combinations become astronomical, hence differing experiences.

Oh yeah I know but my home Internet connection is 1Gbps and the one where my remote camera is located is 7mbps. The remote connection is a bit less reliable but not terrible.
I guees my point is that the common device for all of us is the WYZE cameras. If ipilot66 solves his problems with another brand of camera where does that leave us?

It should not have any effect on you! I do not understand any of the upgrades that have been made! I bought my cameras BECAUSE I didn’t have to try to learn that stuff. If I were 50 years younger, I might be interested in learning but at 84 I just don’t want to learn. Now the camera has outgrown me and my limited computer knowledge! the cameras I am buying are right back to what WYZE used to be. I can just plug them in and be done with it. I have no need to spend my precious time learning something I can do without! My time outside is involved with aircraft . . . that I understand! Although the newer panels are something I will not learn—I just have no need. Please enjoy your cameras and all the new things WYZE can add. I don’t even know what RTSP stands for nor what it does. Just not fun for me!~~~J

That’s what I am saying. I, and most other customers, can do that with WYZE cameras.

Panels?
You refer to upgrades. The cameras really haven’t changed other than the Person Detection.

RTSP stands for Real Time Streaming Protocol. Something our camerasdon’t have unless you specifically add it. Not sure why you ended up posting in this thread.

Angus.black,
you seem to have no problem with your cameras, which is just fine . . . but you seem too have trouble reading!
My post was an answer to what you posted and was rather simple! Thought you would have no trouble following what I said, but I was wrong.
Adding another router just for the cameras is NOT just plugging them in!!
I plainly stated that I was more interested in aviation, not in toy cameras . . .
although the newer aircraft has much more electronics on their panel, which makes them 'not so much fun to fly with!!
If such a simple statement is confusing to you, I think we had better just leave things as they are.
You can enjoy your WYZE cameras and I will find what works for me!
Good Day~~~J

Adding a second WiFi ap to your setup that’s not part of a mesh network is a really bad idea. You’re just creating more RF noise on your site. You BEST bet is to get rid of all trash WiFi equipment and add a single good AP system.

I always thought it was the real time sexy protocol. I came with it pre-installed.

I believe that a VLan would be better than an AP - isolate the Wyze crap from the rest of your network.

Buy a [Mod-Edit] router that supports “host isolation” and you’re good to go.

Ok, no need to be rude.
If you’re just here to complain that’s ok but don’t take your frustrations out on people who are just trying to help.
