Careful the shills will be after you soon
I am using the 2 allowed cameras with Synology how do you like it? How many cams did you license and does it handle them Ok CPU etc?
I am using 3 1080p cams at the moment set at max bitrate. I am not running into any cpu or memory issues yet. Planning to eventually run 6 cams.
LT426,
I also have a hardwired to DVR high-res/low light camera watching my front porch, which supplements my five V3s, one pan cam, & one WCO that cover the rest of my home. If the internet goes down, which even w/the best of systems experience occasionally, the DVR still captures my main entrance video. I have been considering purchasing this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RS2G1FX/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A2LNZEPI7X9Y44&psc=1 for some time now. While I am a retired audio electronics tech, this is a tad outside my main discipline. I’m hoping someone can chime in as to whether this looks like a viable alternative to the yet to be released V3 RTSP firmware. Even better, has anyone ever tried it ?.
THX !
How will that help? Getting from WiFi to Ethernet isn’t the hurdle. The fact that the V3 won’t generate a standard RTSP stream is the hurdle.
I’d settle for a way to access the camera’s native video feed. I can convert it to a format I need, including RTSP.
It shouldn’t be too hard to do. Wyze just doesn’t want to make the feed accessible; it wants everyone to go through its app.
Yea, I figured that was a dumb question after taking a closer look. Thanks for the constructive input !.
OK - what am I missing you smart ones??? I’m running tiny cam pro on one laptop and BI on another. I have the web server function turned on in tiny cam and trying to connect via BI - but getting nothing in BI. Here is a screen shot…what am I missing?
Is .15 the address of your TinyCam Pro server? Is it inside an emulator VM? Can you successfully access the TinyCam web server from a browser to that IP address?
Yes .15 is the address of my TinyCam Pro server. It is running on my laptop via BlueStacks. I just tried to access that web server and I got a timeout error.
So if you can’t even reach it (try pinging too) it sounds like a Bluestacks / Windows firewall / routing issue?
Make sure you have bridged or otherwise set the emulator’s network connection to the actual computer’s network card. I don’t know about BlueStacks or where the setting is in it, but in MeMu, it defaults to NAT and it wouldn’t work for me until I changed it.
Seller needs to provide better information’s!
I found you how Wyze is building monopoly!
Cam v3 goes back to store!
If you’re asking for a refund good luck with that. Their returns process is always broken so if you can get past that might get to enjoy paying the return shipping on an that just doesn’t even work properly for most.
You can add me to the list of people holding out for V3 RTSP support before buying a few. Even if it’s a low priority for them it would be nice for some kind of update other than the current FAQ post by Brenda.
I am also holding out on purchasing Wyze cam v3’s until RTSP is implemented. I like the price point of the Wyzecam, but if RTSP support doesn’t come soon (or at the very least a meaningful update) I’ll just purchase a competing product.
So from the looks of it we have about 10,000 cameras on hold for people waiting for rtsp support or home assistant integration.
Is back in store!
Sadly they don’t give a [Mod Edit] about customers waiting for RTSP before they buy.
They are selling more than they can manufacture right now (COVID-19 impacting chip suppliers).
I don’t expect any good news from Wyze for a while so my test camera sits doing nothing and I’m not buying the rest of the ones I had planned.
Maybe in 2022 or 2023…?

I think everyone needs chill out. The low cost of the camera is to get people in the door, Wyze wants every camera to subscribe to recording services. Ironically I would do so if they had a 10 camera plan (that was affordable) that includes a WEB BROWSER based viewer that allowed for all cameras to be seen at the same time. Its the only reason I use RTSP is so I can leave all my cameras up on a TV above my desk while I work.
But back to us… We need to know our place in all this, Any threats to not buy them so you can use them without thier subscription service wont make them lose a second of sleep. You are not the customers they want. I doubt thier is any profit in selling the hardware. Any value they get from customers like us is simply marketing value of us telling others the cameras are good. The fact they came out day 1 and said they would have RTSP at some point was the only reason I bought them. I am grateful that they said this. They are great cameras, I cant wait to install them.
Wyze, if you are listening, I would say that its been too long without an update. You not us said you would make this right, Give us an ETA, I think we are owed that. The ETA could be Summer 2022 if you want just give us something so we can plan accordingly. My current cameras are failing, I really need to know if I have to buy something else while I wait or if RTSP will come out at some point in the near future.
