RTSP for V3

They trying to figure out how to charge us for it.

I have 8 of these units on the floor of my office new in the box waiting for the day that RTSP is allowed. I use my cams with Shinobi (currently Foscam), I cant wait to swap over. I honestly didn’t think it would be this long given the promised they would release this at time of release. The TinyCam workaround doesnt work for me, if it was a windows or Linux server I could stand up to play man in the middle I would be cool with that but having to run Tiny Cam in an Android or emulation is just too much to deal with.

Another vote here from a rather miffed new customer to get the RTSP firmware for the v3 cam.
I use Home Assistant and after reading glowing reports of the v2 camera, I went to order from Wyze. They no longer sell the v2 so I got the v3. Now I see there is no RTSP firmware for it, still.
Please WYZE. Can we have it soon? This camera hardware is amazing but crippled if we cannot use this basic function.

Come on, Wyze.

Been some time must be another reason for the delay

Yes, there is a reason. Its called the almighty dollar.
As long as they are selling Cam Plus subs, they aren’t interested in us ‘geeks’.

Hello All,

And by all, I mean particularly “Wyze Labs”. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, but this subject hits too close to home to remain silent. I have 7 Wyze Cams, & one low light, high-res camera hardwired to a security DVR looking out of a window at my front porch & yard. I can’t tell you how much I’d like to swap that always recording camera out for an outdoor mounted V3. I fabricated a back box, so no indoor light reflections are present, but my old-fashioned window w/storm window facing west is an issue. The late afternoon ~ evening sun nearly washes out my pix completely for about 3 to 4hrs. I have a V3 mounted outside under that same window. The sill, which extends approx 4 inches, nearly completely hides it. That V3 handles the evening sun far better (negligible washout) than the one I have mounted inside. RTSP firmware for the V3 can’t come soon enough !.
Just my two cents …

Didn’t you? And if you didn’t why be bitter, you didn’t waste yer money.

if you like, buy it, if you don’t don’t buy. Life’s simple.

I bought the camera with expectations of rtsp support. I bought the door/window sensors with the assumption that the wouldn’t be on time use products, I bought the watch under the assumption I could track my fitness. Unfortunately it’s been one huge disappointment after the next.

As for the question “who buys this crap” I was directly referring to the cloud subscription services.

The reason I’m bitter is because everything promised by the company has been quick to fall apart. The promise of rudimentary rtsp support has taken months and been pushed to its own firmware rather being tied into one that will be updated.

The sensors stop working completely when the battery runs out or gets replaced.

The watch decides on its own when it’s going to monitor health aspects. It also makes the choice of when it will update google fit with the incorrect and incomplete information.

The scale gives wildly differing weights with each step onto it. The heart rate on the watch is always way different than that of the scale.

When I’ve tried to go through the return process I would just be kicked back to the main page asking me to input my information again. This is an infinite loop. I’m guessing they finally figured out this was happening since they currently have a warning letting users know that the returns process is currently broken.

I pre-ordered 3 v3 cams, bought the scale, and pre-ordered the watches all within a months time pretty much. I sold most of it but 1 camera and I just got the watches a week ago. Now I would be keen to send the watches back but first the returns process is broken right now and 2 it would probably cost more in return shipping and restocking than it’s even worth.

You’re the perfect customer. You buy stuff expecting the seller would later add the missing features you want, and when they fail to do so, buy some more of their stuff.

Either stop buying their stuff or wait until they have the features you want, or buy from brand that meets your needs.

Man you just don’t pay much attention huh? I bought most of it within a 30 day span. When I tried to return it it wouldn’t let me. My window expired due to their broken system. I was stuck with the product and never capable of canceling anything. I won’t be buying anything else from wyze but I do still expect the items to work as advertised.

You’ve been complaining about Wyze for as long as I have been here, so it’s been longer than that. Be an informed consumer instead and feel better about yourself.

So since december when I first started getting the trash.

I’m sorry are you a wyze spokesman. I’m just trying to put together why you’re deep throating them so hard.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
This thread has gone waaaay south! Good work on lowering the tone guys :firecracker:

Meanwhile…
Can we please have RTSP for v3 WyzeCams.

HAHAHA. Thread derail.

In other news, I just moved the four boxes containing my v3s from one side of my office to a shelf on the other. Still haven’t opened them to look at them. WE NEED RTSP!

Sounds like someone feels dejected that he bought something that doesn’t meet his needs and is now throwing a temper tantrum. $25!

Waiting for RTSP firmware for the v3 cam
Have one v3, and will just stop here till rtsp is available and then will buy some more.
Wyze, user are requesting this for a while, why not make this happening?
Off course a Blue Iris user here and rtsp is need it.

I am waiting for RTSP support. Using with Synology Surveillance System. Any updates to when this might be available?

I’m not buying another Wyze product until support for RTSP on the V3 camera is available. I will also no longer suggest anyone else purchase ANY Wyze products (I’ve done this a lot). I will gladly give them my business again when they follow through on their promises. Hopefully it’s won’t be long now before I go a different way and purchase a competitors products making this a permanent choice.
