I just had the worst experience with Wyze and customer service. I ordered a refurbished Wyze camera OG and was sent a refurbished Wyze camera 2. I called customer service and they kick the can to the insurance I had to buy with the refurbished order. After emails, chats and a call hopefully this problem will be resolved. I am not renewing my service for my seven devices because of this experience. By the way, the box looks like it was used for a kickball game and has a label on it that reads, “Change Fraud”. Wyze get out of the refurbished game.

I just got my money back from the insurance company minus the cost of the insurance. What a joke, I will cancel my services when they expire and sell my cameras on Ebay.

I would never have even thought of buying a refurb Wyze camera. Never would do that.

I bought it for use in my crawl space to keep an eye on my sump pump. I didn’t want to buy a “brand new” camera because the area is dusty. However, I learned by lesson. I would have been better off buying one off of eBay.
Was it a Wyze Cam V2? or WCO v2? and was it that camera in an OG box?
It depends on the item. I ordered 2 Asus expensive, refurbished routers for use as mesh nodes. One was obviously used, sold by a local company via Amazon. The other was actually brand-new and priced cheaper than the used one. I was scratching my head.
I also lucked out and got a refurbished 27-in WQHD Dell monitor for $65 from a local Microcenter. Street price was $150, to replace a monitor for an old PC. It was a return. A year later and there’s nothing wrong with it.
But a $20 cam OG?

My take exactly. Every computer I own is a refurb. Never had a problem with any of them. But why bother with a $20 camera.

Don’t blame the victim nor be an apologist. The bottom line is when you order something you expect the product you ordered. Plain and simple.

… is refurbs are a gamble. You roll the dice and take your chances.
I don’t buy refurbed underwear.
Reputable refurbs offer a greater return. I bought a Dell XPS i7 laptop years ago below cost. Still works today. I have exceeded the warranty but if it fails it was my decision.
If you go to Amazon, they sell used toilet paper and used underwear.
Wyze is just playing catch-up.
