Just spent 3 hours trying to get an hours worth of video screen recorded from V3 cam and V2-that isn’t real far behind in horror funtions with v3.7.8.702. Not exaggerating. Op sys is Android 15. Been wanting to mention the absolute nightmare it is now to scroll through SD card footage & screen record sections esp for like evidence. My God a judge wouldn’t accept this mess if it tried showing the crime of the century! Family crisis and literal nausea just thinking about the recent destruction of a halfway decent app kept me from getting posted a big fat sarcastic thanks a he11 of a lot.
Won’t dare put myself through writing out all the beyond belief screw ups tonight but today’s email from Wyze stating, ‘Everything works like before, we’ve just refreshed the layout’ almost put me on life support! Omg, no company can possibly be that clueless as to what an unusable abominable app someone who cared not one iota about user experience has done. Stephen King couldn’t have written a more excruciating app.
From massive menus covering the screen if there’s the slightest accidental tap to no menu to scroll in landscape and a 75% of the screen being menu & waste in portrait and on and on and sooo much more. Utterly bewildering Wyze pretty much destroyed the way we’ve been using the app then sending a denial or sheer not caring what’s actually going on email. Shocking even for them.
Bless the others who found out it’s deeply dreadful yet receive feedback like it’s not…swear just got a big wave of nausea. Trying to just scroll to review 24 hour footage or save zoomed vid or screen record anything from this app would drive a nun to rage! Revert it back!!
Hey Steven, a ways back I tried updating versions with SD for cameras bricking from updates and just wanting to change versions. That bricked more cams I think 3 iirc. There’s no way I couldn’t follow specific instructions three separate times so everyone doesn’t have it so easy and such luck to download and upload to the brains of these things. Wish I did but am afraid to try it again. Maybe down the road because this app is that torturous I mean torturous I mean borderline completely unusable for many.
Imagine a guy building fires during a drought where it’s a severe crime. You could turn live feed to landscape pinch open to zoom after starting your screen recorder move the screen around a little bit with two fingers pinch it back whatever you want it. Oh my holy God try that now. Oh and if you just practically breathe on the screen you get a massive white menu of play button and arrows every. single. time. you move the screen and it zooms back out. So now you have to tap to get rid of the menu try to zoom back in get rid of the menu again and to 2 finger push the screen up to show the date and time at the bottom it’s always hidden under the green hash lines tap again to get rid of those and the minutes are now practically off screen because apparently the font increased. Between two different versions of cameras there’s at least 15 significant issues it’s just so bad so yeah, may risk bricks again soon. Thx.
Manually flashing camera firmware is a little different than installing an Android APK file. Here is a tutorial video if you have not installed an APK file before.
Ah Yes of course, mis-saw your suggestion. I’ll check the vid and it’d be great if they actually let us stay on an older version for a decent amount of time.
