Best app version android

Im currently using 3.2.6 from november 2024. For the most part everything is good except playback issues through sd card. Mostly issues are with pan cam v3’s. All other types of cams and doorbells are perfect. Every time i load in a different version of the app, it fixes the problems but causes new ones. Main problem now is getting a snapshot of motion and going to playback from card and message says unavailable. Ive gone through tech support many times and it all comes down to the app being the problem (not the cams, not the sd cards and not any of the setup within the app).

I am still using App version 2.50.7.487. This version is over a year old, but everything just works for me.

You can find older Wyze App versions here.

If the app alone was the problem, then I would expect to see the same behavior on two different Cam Pan v3s, but that has not been my experience: I have one Cam Pan v3 that works as expected with its microSD card, but another does not and has had problems off an on for over a year. I have not seen a particular app version make a difference in this experience. I believe that the microSD card issue with some Cam Pan v3s is still being explored, and a Wyze Team member has solicited logs for it within the past few months:

I would be reluctant to revert to an older app version, especially if you have any Wyze Cams or other products released since the v3x app was introduced for the reasons I’ve described elsewhere. I’d also note that if you update to a current app version from what you’re using now, then that might hose your Cam Pan v3s’ Waypoints, so you’d potentially have to reset those, because I think Wyze changed some things on the back end (which translated to newer app versions) when creating a different Waypoint experience for Cam Pan v4 (and possibly Duo Cam Pan, though I haven’t used that one and can’t say for sure).

In any case, because of the addition of VerifiedView to Wyze’s cam authentication process, I expect older versions of the app to get flaky and/or possibly stop working at some as-yet-to-be-determined point in the future.

That’s the Wyze corporate mission.
