Product Release - 1/23/2024

@cory_g
I know I have seen a few disappointed in this move. I know at one point there was a survey that went out asking if users would opt to keep the USB port or remove it and have a slightly less expensive product.

Well, first time commenting on it for me at least. There’s only one neighbor of mine who uses 5000k on an outdoor lamp, and I’ve been considering buying them a 2500k bulb, as there’s is so awful. Lol

Can the V2 be mounted upside down under an eave like the v1?

Yes, and the camera will swivel all the way around, so there is no need to flip the image, just spin the camera to still sit upright so the PIR is also still at a great angle.

Yes, you can.

Can camera be pointed down to show the wall under that camera or will that block the PIR view? (want to see the area right below the camera as well as in front)

If this doesn’t work with Wyze cam plus lite then I don’t want it.

It’s really too bad so many features of these cameras aren’t available without a subscription. Wyze is getting to be too greedy.

This device will not work with Cam Plus Lite.

The USB port would have probably only added $0.50 to the cost of the light.

yes, you can, If you tilt all the way down the camera angle, the PIR performance can be affected. (you probably don’t need to tilt all the way down the camera to see the wall though considering the 160-degree FOV) These angles are the most optimal angles for PIR detection.

In case you are curious what it looks like in real life, here’s an image from an older version of the packaging.

Thank you!

Wonder if the new floodlight V2 can be used the same way as the old to monitor other individual V3 camera detection in the rule condition trigger the light on/off.

That’s really too bad there is no extra USB port. I’d replace my version 1 floodlight with v2 but can not do it because of the lack of extra USB port :frowning:

Buy the outdoor power adapter, pop out a small section of soffit next to the floodight temporarily, and route the 120V side of the adapter into the same electrical box as the floodlight. Wire it to the same Hot and Neutral wires in the box, tack the transformer to a rafter, route the microUSB side of the adapter inside the soffit to your second camera location. Not as convenient to install, but more waterproof and not expensive. This also does away with the visible extra cable at the floodlight, since Wyze didn’t do much about cable management on the v1.
