Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro comes packed with features including a 180° wide-angle lens and 2.5K quad high-definition (QHD) resolution video to show your yard end-to-end in better detail than ever before. :magnifying glass:
Fast and accurate onboard AI computer vision detects motion and turns on the adjustable 3,000 lumen LED lights. You can even set it to only turn on when people or vehicles are detected. Speaking of person detection, Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro can be set to play a motion-activated voice prompt if the camera sees anyone from in-laws to outlaws.
Want even more? We have good news! This floodlight has a 105 dB siren built into it that can deter all sorts of unwanted visitors like unbearable neighbors (if you get bears in your yard, please tell us how it does with actual bears ).
You could pay a security guard to patrol your perimeter… Or you could let Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro get the job done for you.

Kind of disappointed by a small oversight, I never bought the original floodlight for one reason–color temperature. I was hoping this would allow for adjustment to 2700 or 3000k, this only does 5000k, which i really dislike the look of.
I would have bought the first version had it had that feature and would have bought this one too if it had it, but i’ll skip.
I’m very reluctant to purchase this, when my 2 Wyze original floodlights have never worked well. Turning on by themselves, absent any motion, Changing settings (PIR vs Camera trigger) doesn’t help. Having to be power cycled multiple times. It seems Wyze is focused on releasing half baked products at light speed
Does this need Cam Plus for notifications? On one of the screens it says:
"More accurate motion-activated lights powered by vision AI.Goodbye, clumsy PIR technology. Onboard AI computer vision detects motion and turns on the lights only from objects you select, like people and vehicles. Plus, get notifications sent to your phone. No subscription required.
Does that last line mean video notifications do not require a subscription, or is it just going to tell you the light turned on.
The notification sent to your phone is the ‘push’ notification. You would still get a ‘snapshot’ in the event feed without subscription and a video in the event feed with a subscription.
For those who wish they had a floodlight junction box and wires installed in a different location of your house so you could put one of these up there, I found a cool video by Life Hackster that walks you through how to wire the floodlights using an extension cord, so that you can put up a floodlight basically ANYWHERE you want one:
I actually already did this with a floodlight, and it worked great. I’m going to use this to install a couple more of these Floodlight Pro units in other areas around my house now. I mean, 2.5K resolution with 180 degree Field of View? I guess 4 of these will cover all sides of your entire house!
I think I’m also going to wire one onto the wall in the back corner of my property and point it toward my pool and my house too so that there is plenty of light at night when I want it, and be able to see everything from the opposite side too.
Things I really love about this camera/Floodlight that make me want to buy a bunch of them:
2.5K Resolution (that is a GREAT picture and view of everything!
180 degree FOV to see everything (basically one on each side of your house covers your entire property securely)
Ambient Lighting - can leave the lights on lower all the time to be able to see a little bit, and see in color nightvision all the time, and then brighter when a person is in view, including when I want to do something in my own property after sunset!
Vision AI = Free Local AI detections which can control the lighting, instead of just all motion/heat (ex: my cats set off the Floodlight v1 all night regardless of PIR/Pixel motion options…this solves that).
3000 Lumen!!! and between 3 adjustable panels
The alert stuff is a nice bonus, but I am not sure I will ever use it. Maybe I’ll turn it on while I’m on vacation or something. Usually the lights coming on brightly should be sufficient warning for most of my uses.
Supports 5GHz band! That will help with congestion concerns…when you start to have several dozen cameras and other smart devices all on 2.4GHz, 5GHz can be a big bonus.
There’s nothing to love but more trouble. All they’re doing is putting new products out and not fixing the issue we all have been struggling with. All the volunteers in here all they say it’s not wyze it’s your internet get a wyze router any they are volunteers but not it free they get free bees, from products to the for free. I’m a mod on Tapatalk so this is all nonsense what they say. All talk and [mod edit] answer
I have the original Flood Light. My biggest complaint is I don’t want motion sensing. I want to say “Alexa, backyard on/off” and have it turn on/off the light, while always recording video. Does this exist in the new Pro?
Wish they’d make a Floodlight with and adjustable color temperature so the light can be warmer, I hate cool white light. Why aren’t they listening to customers?
I’m curious why some people want warm-temperature floodlights?
I know lots of people like warm temperature indoor lighting in the evening time because it filters out the blue light and makes it easier to go to sleep, even though it is harder to see, not as bright or clear, etc; but it has never really made sense to me why some people want warm temperature lighting for outdoor lighting, especially if you want to see more clearly, particularly whomever enters the floodlight range where you would want a good, clear recording of them.
Can you (or someone) help me understand the desire for warmer temperature outdoor lighting?
Incidentally, since these are basically square, it should be pretty easy to just buy an orange light filter and put that in front of the lights, then they will be as warm as anyone wants. I recommend searching Amazon or another platform for something like “Orange light filter” or Yellow, or red or whatever; or gel filter. There are several option for as low a price as $3.29 that would work perfectly with this floodlight. If a warmer light temperature is really important to someone, I would recommend something like that.
The reason is simple, it’s easier on the eyes. I have a few neighbors that have porch lights that have a cool white temperature and it’s bothersome just driving or walking by their houses at night because of those lights. It’s like hospital lighting!
I’ve always used warmer lights for outside of the house, that can be adjusted brighter if need be. Warmer lighting is always more pleasing to the eyes. And a warm color temperature can still be bright to get clear recordings. I don’t need my outside house lighting be the temperature of shop lighting. And yes we can put filters on this new Wyze Floodlight easier than the first one they sold, but we shouldn’t have to. This tech is inexpensive to implement now. Remember when CFL’s and then LED bulbs first came out, they only used a cool white temperature, so I wouldn’t buy them. Then their color temperature started coming down, that’s then I jumped on board.
For me, if Wyze made a floodlight with an adjustable color light, like their color light bulbs, that would be perfect. And I’d pay a little more for that.
Thanks. I can understand having a preference. One benefit of cool lighting is that it can always be made into warm lighting by adding a filter, but it’s almost impossible to go the other way around for those who prefer cool…it is hard to make warm lighting become cool lighting even with a filter because it already doesn’t have blue light in it to bring back. So if they have to pick just one, it make sense to me to pick cool lighting and allow people to add a filter to make it warm for those who wish it. It would be nice to have the light automatically support both. I wonder what the cost difference is for that. Maybe I’ll go ask about that in the AMA, and see if they’ll tell us why they didn’t support warm lighting. That sounds like a good question to ask.
The thing is we don’t need cool white color temperatures for outside lights. A warm light that can be increased in brightness, does the job. Cool white like what is used in fluorescent tube lights, is used in hospitals, schools and shops is more for mental focus. But I hate having my back porch light with that kind of lighting when I’m spending time out there relaxing with friends. Well obviously using cool white LED’s is less expensive for these devices. Wyze has never suggested using a filter, so I don’t think they even thought about it. Because they could have sold filter covers, which might be something they should think about.
