Oh and yes I have Cam Plus, the live playback also would not let me save the videos, it just saved one image of what I wanted. I did check my IPhone camera and all settings are correct. It is the camera button on the event menu.
The camera button at the top in the event tab allows you to choose which cameras or groups of cameras to filter in or out who’s videos that are already uploaded to the cloud.
These people all seem to be having the same problem, including me,
When viewing a live stream, they can hit record, then stop, and when finished a pop up will say “saved to album successfully”. When viewing “playback”, they hit record, then stop, and… NOTHING HAPPENS !. Nothing is saved to album, no message is displayed, whether an error or success.
Why has nothing been done about this? You’re making it seem like we’re incompetent or something. I have to use a 3rd party program to get any video off the dang thing. This should be unacceptable to you, as well.
What actual firmware version is on your v2 cameras? What actual app version are you using? Is still an issue for you years later? I am wondering if the many firmware updates since then and app updates may have fixed this.
I just tried saving clips using the record button on live and playback and both areas worked, both gave me a saved message, and all videos I saved were viewable in my phone’s album.
Did you ever contact Support about this issue? What was their direction?
I’m fairly certain I contacted support, and submitted a log, etc. The response, whatever it was was unsatisfactory. Is there somewhere I can look this information up? I’ve forgotten about it till recently when I needed to d/l a video from the sdcard, and I had to use a 3rd party app to screen record what I wanted.
Firmware version is 4.28.4.41 on both cams. Both are under Cam Plus Lite. The app version is v2.47.0 (373) on both my pixel 6a phone Android 14, and samsung sm-j737t Android 9. I use both to monitor the cams from time to time.
That is the RTSP firmware which is based off of several year old by now base firmware. Can you put the production firmware into the camera and try it out? I doubt Support can help since you are running the old firmware which was beta to begin with. Using any beta firmware is knowing that it could have bugs and isn’t a production ready release. Are you using the RTSP functions at all?
Edit, looks like the base firmware used for that rtsp version is over three years old. I would recommend changing to the production firmware with a firmware flash and try those features out again. There have been many bug fixes, feature updates and security upgrades since then
I do use RTSP on one of them. Is there any way to change the firmware without removing the sd cards, or pushing reset buttons? Both are behind plastic window wrap because it’s cold here, and are not readily accessible.
Unfortunately no. Here are the instructions, just scroll down to the Wyze cam v2.
