Pre-order shipping update 12/23/20

Preorder Shipment Update #3

Week of 12/23/2020!

Hello!

My name is Jimmy and I’m a Community Manager here at Wyze. If this is your first time reading one of these, welcome! In these weekly emails, we’re keeping you updated on where your preorders are in the journey to your front door.

If you’re back for my corny jokes, well… I will try to deliver but this is a lot of pressure. :disappointed_relieved:

First, some weekly reminders.

  • If you’re reading this, it’s probably been a little while since you’ve placed your preorder. If you need to update your shipping address, please contact our support team ASAP! A ton of orders have shipped over the last week and we will continue shipping large quantities in the near future. Don’t accidentally give your ex-roommates free gifts unless you really like them!

  • The dates that you see below are estimates for when your devices will ship . This is when the shipping carriers have the package in their possession and the adventure begins. :truck::dash:

  • Once shipped, our carriers tell us that it can take 4-14 business days to get packages to you. It’s a liiiiittle busier than normal this time of year, after all.

  • Unfortunately, no one got their super powers on Monday… so we’re gonna have to take the long way. If you’re in Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico, it could take up to 2-4 weeks to deliver your packages.

I’m keeping things as transparent as possible, so if you’re interested in what’s going on behind the scenes and want a heads up if there are any potential delays or speedups on the horizon, you’re reading the right email! Not a big fan of the details? Feel free to skim for the date estimates and I’ll keep you posted next week if things change.

This last week accelerated things massively! Ready to learn more? Let’s get started with this week’s update! :running_man:

Wyze Cam v3

57% of preorders have shipped.

Orders from November 6th - November 7th

Should ship by 12/26.

Orders from November 8th - November 21st
Should ship by 1/2.

November 22nd - December 21st

Should begin shipping in mid-January.

Notes for Wyze Cam v3

A huge portion of Wyze Cam v3 orders were shipped over the last week - an additional 37% in fact! With this surge in shipped orders, we’re slightly ahead of our adjusted schedule from last week. Fingers crossed - we’re hoping to keep that lead so I can move some of these estimates up! :fire:

Please keep in mind that Wyze Cam v3 units are packaged in either multi-packs or individually depending on how many you ordered. Due to this, it is possible that outbound shipments may slightly fluctuate from first-in-first-out depending on the supply of each at the warehouse closest to you.

Note: We’re temporarily flipping Wyze Cam v3 to out-of-stock so we can focus on fulfilling the rest of the preorders ASAP.

Wyze Thermostat

100% of preorders have been shipped.

All of the outstanding preorders for Wyze Thermostat have shipped!

New orders are expected to ship within our normal 1-3 day window until preorders end.

Notes for Wyze Thermostat

If you’re reading this, chances are that you’re not still waiting on your Wyze Thermostat preorder to be sent out! They’re already on the way.

I’m running low on Dad jokes about thermostats (doing some variation of “Don’t touch that” feels like a cop-out), so I’ve got a fun fact instead. Did you know that last year Energy Star told us to keep our thermostats at 78 degrees while folks are awake and 82 degrees while asleep? Uh… :flushed:

Excruciatingly hot households aside, we’re keeping thermostat preorders open a bit longer to allow more people to get in on the special preorder pricing. Tell your friends to get in on the deal while we’ve still got inventory left!

Anyone remember last week when we were at 0% shipped? :person_tipping_hand:

Wyze Headphones

100% of preorders have been shipped.

All of the outstanding preorders for Wyze Headphones have shipped!

New orders are expected to ship within our normal 1-3 day window until preorders end.

Notes for Wyze Headphones

We’ve sent out the last of the outstanding Wyze Headphones preorders!

Like Wyze Thermostat, we’re keeping Wyze Headphone preorders open a little bit longer to allow more people to get in on the $50 price.
Sound good? :ear::notes:

Wyze Cam Outdoor Starter Bundle

100% of preorders have been shipped.

All of the outstanding Wyze Cam Outdoor Starter Bundle preorders have shipped!

Notes for Wyze Cam Outdoor Starter Bundles

These have all been sent!

Since Wyze Cam Outdoor has gone on to a full launch, they will be removed from future Preorder Shipment Updates.

See ya, Starter Bundles!

Wyze Video Doorbell

These haven’t started shipping yet.

At this time, it looks like these will start shipping by early February. I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once shipping has begun.

Notes for Wyze Video Doorbells

We’ve been working on implementing some improvements in a few select areas where our early Wyze Video Doorbells did not meet our standards. These improved devices are being made now and soon will be starting to make their way to our warehouses to start shipping out. :dancer:

Right now, we’re still estimating February for these devices to start shipping. We’re hoping to crush this estimation like the chips at the bottom of the bag - we’ll keep you posted along the way!

Wyze Robot Vacuum

Most preorders are awaiting additional inventory.

A small portion of these devices are shipping out to early orderers right now. The rest of these little helpers will start shipping in early-to-mid-January.

I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once January shipping has begun.

Notes for Wyze Robot Vacuum

Over the past week, we’ve started processing early shipments for roughly 15% of our earliest preorders.

We’ve got a bit of a wait while more inventory is being manufactured, so the rest of our preorders will likely start shipping a few weeks later. From there, we expect a steady stream of devices to get us through. Thanks for your patience and I hope you’re excited to save yourself some sweepin’!

Wyze Sprinkler Controller

Preorders have not yet begun to ship.

Shipping starts in mid-to-late January. I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once shipping has begun.

We know you’re eager to smarten your sprinklers but please don’t let the wait dampen your spirits!

Wyze Watch

Preorders have not yet begun to ship.

Watch this space!

… Tough crowd.

Anyway, Wyze Watches are set to start shipping in February. I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once shipping has begun.

Wyze Home Monitoring Hardware

Preorders have not yet begun to ship.

The new generation of Wyze Sense is estimated to begin shipping in February or March. I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once shipping has begun.

This includes Core Starter Kits as well as additional Entry Sensors, Motion Sensors, and Keypads.

Ordered Wyze Cams with your Wyze Home Monitoring equipment? They’ll ship separately as soon as they’re in stock.

Wyze Plug Outdoor

Preorders have not yet begun to ship.

Our newest Wyze product is set to start shipping in January. I’ll have more specific dates for your order(s) once shipping has begun.

It’s already almost January, so I’m confident we can power through this wait time together!
Thanks so much for reading through all of this! Your friends at Wyze wish you a great, COVID-safe holiday weekend. We’ll be in touch next week if your product hasn’t already shipped!

How many V3 cams in a multipack?

Oh, PLEASE let this mean their new standards include a Starlight lens, MicroSD support, & 2K resolution…

Hey, I know I’m dreaming…but it is Christmas season!

You left out RTSP, local person detection, and battery support.

I knew I forgot a bunch of stuff, but I was distracted thinking about things WyzeFrederik said in the other thread about WebRTC (I mean, our doorbells will likely be able to almost instantly load on Alexa screens and maybe Google screens! Or just pull up our app immediately if we’re on the same network! That’s just exciting that Wyze is working WebRTC doing real time local connections).

Thanks for having my back with those things I forgot!

Though, truth be told, I don’t really care about battery support myself. I mean, I’d be happy to have it during power outages…but I would be against it being anything like most of the other battery-powered doorbells. Still, it is a high demand thing people want.

Definitely all over RTSP…Local PD would be great too.

I was of course kidding (as were you) since none of that is going to happen. Battery support isn’t important to me either. My priorities in a doorbell are having it look like a doorbell with a very clear button to push (this design fails markedly) and local person detection. CamPlus can never adequately announce an approaching visitor if it continues to rely on 10+ second uploads and cloud analysis.

That is true, AI PD is too slow to be useful for a doorbell. Local PD would actually be important for this…or rather for a future competitive model.

You could be on to something with the doorbell look though! That is actually a slight possibility. We have talked a lot about how they could do better at making it look like it has a button, rather than making it look like the lens is the button. They do have all that extra space under the lens to add the appearance of a button. I don’t think they’ll do this (especially since the design already has a light in that area, which would require a lot of re-arranging), but it otherwise is a legitimate thing they could’ve decided needed fixing during some of the beta tests of real people coming to the door and it not working quite as smoothly as other smart doorbells.

I raised the issue here before they released the final design and just about everyone said I was off base. I still don’t get it. The only thing that looks like a button to be pushed on the Wyze doorbell is the very center of the lens. I too doubt they’ll change that either, but it would make a big difference.

Yeah, I remember all that. I slowly came around to some degree on your points about the design. I do still think that the majority of people will realize where they should press, especially since Wyze said it will light up. However, it’s the percentage of people who will be confused that they need to cater to, and make it more obvious for, especially with the lens looking like a physical button, more than the “button” does. I could see my grandma being confused, for instance.

I plan to just make a label that says PUSH. It’s an old user interface problem.

Are there any plans to release APIs for newer products like the Vacuum? One thing that has been holding many of us back from getting into the Wyze ecosystem is the lack of APIs (preferably Local APIs) so we can integrate with our Home Automation systems. Myself included :frowning:
Help us help you!

They’re working on this. See the AMA video starting at 1:06:24 and continuing for roughly the next 3 minutes.

So sometime in the next year we should have API for some of the devices at least. I’m hoping we can get some integration into home assistant, Samsung smart things, Hubitat and many other options.
