Hello everyone! Just bought my first camera and it arrived yesterday. I have it on my front porch. I also purchased the outdoor power kit as well for $19.99. I also bought the USB to USB 20 ft extension cable. When opening, I realized the extension won’t work with my outdoor kit. Is there a 20’ extension with both ends being a C or how could I make what I have work?
USB-C shouldn’t be part of this discussion at all. Cam v4 uses a Micro-B connector, as does Wyze Outdoor Power Adapter. If you need that much (20′) length, then the easiest solution might just be finding an outdoor-rated electrical extension cable so that you’re not experiencing the voltage drop that often accompanies trying to push power through long, thin USB cables. That drop can contribute to camera performance problems.
I realize that an electrical extension cable might not be the ideal solution, too, so sharing more information about your intended application might help community members to offer ideas or solutions.

These are USB-A male at one end and Micro-B male at the other. If you have a suitable power adapter with a USB-A female port that you can keep protected in a box covering an outdoor-rated electrical power outlet (several Forum contributors have done this[1][2][3][4][5][6]), then you could potentially just use a longer USB cable to power the camera (20′ is probably okay, but 30′ might be stretching it). These are the cables I like:
You can read why I like them in another topic if you’re interested. Note that I have used only the 10′ cables indoors so far, but I would expect the 20′ cables to be a good fit and work outdoors if properly installed, as well. Again, what’s going to be the best solution for you will depend on your chosen mounting location and application.
