Phantom doorbell chime ringing Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell

I am using the Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell with the chime.
After the doorbell sees activity it often rings the chime even though the doorbell has not been pushed. For example when I am shoveling snow on the patio and I hear “you are being recorded.”

Any thoughts on how to stop this?

Firmware kept current. I was hoping this would be fixed with an update, but no luck so far.

TIA

Motion warning “you are being recorded” is either on or off. You can try tweaking the detecton settings, especially the motion detection sensitivity to cut down on the warning announcements.

Phantom chime ringing has a connection to how you set up the doorbell, especially if you wired it with existing chime transformer wiring. Will need to provide more info on installation and transformer power (##V / ##Vac).

Thanks for the reply. After I posted I went in search in the settings again. And I think I found a setting to cure this! It seems to work.

Thanks again!

You’re quite welcome. Would you care to post the ‘cure’ you found in the settings for the fix? As users of the forum for “everything Wyze”, we find it helpful and educational to share the solution with the community. Nothing is too simple and definitely not too extensive to share.

The answer was in the settings…

My Duo Doorbell has been named “Front Door”
My chime has been named “Living Room Chime”

Here is where I found it…
In the Wyze app…

Devices
Then choose
Living Room Chime
Then choose
Front Door
Then choose
Front Door Detects a Person and Disable it.

Hope this helps someone!
