I have had three V3 cams for about a year. While the colored night vision has been very disappointing on all my cameras including my new V4, nothing is more annoying then the process of seeing my pan scan setting get progressively worse and worse. My connection are working fine, I have turned off track motion since the software doesn’t track well anyway. I have over and over and over and over again reset my pan scan view setting. Without fail every single one of my cameras within 5-25 minutes goes back to a view of my wall and then sits. None of them process off of my preset locations in order and half the time they skip them.
They worked great after I first installed them. This feels more and more like a software issue and it’s gotten progressively worse across the board. The more the engineers have tried to implement their AI the worse things have gotten. Pretty sure I about to cut my losses and get rid of Wyze entirely. Get different cameras and drop my monthly cam plus bit before I do I wanted to see if others are having the same issue and there is a fix. Am I the only person seeing the software get worse? Why are all of my V3 cameras failing in the same way and at the same times?
My V3s and pan cam V3s are working well.
They always say this, but how sure are you? WiFi bars don’t give the complete story.
Welcome to the Forum, @zackary.killpack!
Sharing some details about what settings you are using (as you mentioned that you have turned off Track Motion) might help others here to understand your issue and provide some feedback. What other troubleshooting steps have you taken with these? I’m thinking of things like firmware updates, factory resets, re-adding cameras to the app, etc. You didn’t mention what firmware you’re using, and that might be important, too.
Cam Pan v3 has a known issue with drift, and that’s been described as a hardware problem that Wyze has apparently attempted to address to some degree with firmware/software. A lot of Cam Pan v3 users create a Schedule type Automation to reset their cameras’ positions and restart them periodically in an attempt to mitigate that and deal with connectivity/reconnection issues, and you didn’t mention trying anything like that, so that might be something else to consider.
I’m not trying to defend any of the problems. I have my own frustrations with Wyze about a number of things, and I think this is a pretty good community for user-to-user support and figuring out ways to overcome some of the products’ apparent shortcomings.
Thanks for the feedback. I have re installed them, I have done factory reset over and over and over. They still do the same thing. It’s definitely not a
Connection issue. They all have sd cards and the connections are flawless. Honestly I just put a V4 out front of my house and I can not read a license plate from 20 feet away. All my firmware is up to date. I think it’s just time to call it and switch systems. I am exhausted on them, you get what you pay for and I haven’t gotten much from Wyze
“can not read a license plate from 20 feet away”
Is this with hd or 2k setting, night vision on/off for color images at night and did you double click the image to zoom it? You are not going to get definitive pixel resolution from a cellphone screen. What about a tablet or laptop?
