I hadn’t used my new pan cam v2 probably since I bought it. When I plugged it in and did the cam setup it prompted saying there is a newer version so I said ok. The update never finished after 10 minutes and the cam never rebooted. I never used a memory card.
I unplugged the cam and tried to reboot and go thru setup again but it just clicks twice and the led is the base color, not red, not blue. The cam doesn’t spin around,
I downloaded a previous software version and put it on the sd card and tried pressing the setup button while plugging it in but still no luck.
I deleted the cam from the app and obviously now cannot re-add it.
You need a working firmware to run setup, and if the previous firmware update failed, the old firmware is no longer viable. Like Antonius says, flash a fresh firmware copy.
Edit -
I have suggested a long time ago that Wyze should leave a small boot block that on the next power cycle, will retry a failed firmware update. And then delete it if the update finishes without error.
Wyze would rather have users download firmware files and for the users to flash the cameras.
