Must be a mistake. I didn’t order any.
This is an official email update from Wyze and It’s not a mistake.
This update only applies to those that ordered the Wyze Cam Outdoors during Early Access.
Anyone that didn’t order the WCO can ignore this notice.
Awesome, can’t wait to try them out
Pretty sure it was a joke.
What I suspect happened is that this person received an update email from the forum with this post but didn’t need the update since they haven’t ordered a Wyze Cam Outdoor.
No, I don’t get anything from WYZE.
Yay!! Just got my tracking number for 1 of the 2 Wyze outdoor cameras I ordered can’t wait
Be honest with that review, it’s not much to ask…Literally thousands of us have yet to see a normal person subject it to harsh conditions and real life use…
Fish tank?..Meh, cliff diving and snorkeling would have been a real test.
How to mount it?..Meh, who hasn’t done that.
Nightsude camping trip day 3 on batteries…at night …show us.
Must have option for wired power. Who wants to reach all the remote acess to change batteries every few months.
Won’t buy a Wyze Outdoor Cam, not impressed with the camera or features.
My V2’s work great outside in an enclosure, been working for over 2 years in rain, snow and heat of summer. 2 are solar powered also, no need to remove and replace to charge battery BS…
What did you use for solar and what battery? I’ve been highly considering this myself.
My solar system is “Way Overkill” for these cameras.
I also have outdoor lighting on solar system also…
2 x 140 watt panels, MPPT solar charge controller, 210 Ah battery
Used to only have one panel but there are 3 months out of the year I do not get enough sun to keep battery charged, so I added another panel.
I live in the forest and the trees are all 80 feet plus tall which limits the usable daylight also…
For the cameras I use an off the shelf 12 volt to 5 volt micro-USB cable assembly:
Hard Wire Charger Cord Cable Universal Micro USB 3.5
In the rain, on a ladder, in the Pacific Northwest, Rains 270 days a year, Storms start in October- to Late May…,Storms. Asked and Wished for a Yi replacement Outdoor Camera for 2 years diligently,
Wyze located in Washington and designs a camera for arid regions and ignores 2/3rds of US population and can’t sell in Canada or Mexico. Yi Camera has 2 screw cover, hardwired long cord. Hooks to everything even Solar/Powerbank running 3 years effortlessly.
What could go wrong? …even the SD CARD is exposed if hung upside down.
It had all the potential, not even close to what thousands asked for to be the best camera ever made.
It should have shipped with a poncho and a discount coupon for a Werner ladder purchase.
Brutal but true.
I live in Arizona and do not have to deal with all the cold and rain. But I agree 100% with your statement. Do I really want to deal with taking down the camera every couple of months? NO!!
Like I have said a few times already. I will not be purchasing this camera.
And now that wyze is talking about a subscription, I have started looking for replacements for all my cameras.
Not happy with Wyze right now. Really do not see them being around in another year or 2.
Very poor leadership leads to unhappy customers.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the Wyze family, I could write a novel about all the things that I like about the company, its people, its products, etc but sadly, I must admit that I’m not impressed about the outdoor cam (or at least not WELL impressed).
Putting aside many other things, what is the purpose of an outdoor cam if I can’t continuously record before, during and after a motion/person event? The current recording of motion events gives only 12 seconds, normally not showing the beginning of the event and never showing how things end unless everything happens within those 12 seconds.
I received my two starter kits that I ordered during the launch event (I was super excited despite many reviews and comments), tried the camera for a couple of days and, I’m not happy at all with my purchase. Nothing like my previous experiences when acquiring other products.
I have faith that something will be done to improve the experience (and it will be FREE - no subscription required), I certainly do else, I’ll have to migrate.
From all I’ve read. I’m pretty convinced to avoid the outdoor camera. I really can’t think of what the guys were thinking something from the ground up. For outdoor security premises settings that requires a routine charge for one has to physically hook a charger to it or take the camera down to charge it I think it would have been helpful if they consulted some security experts as I can guarantee most people aren’t going to put the cameras up too high because they don’t want it to get risky when they have to maintain it regularly on ladders but it puts it in precarious situations for nefarious people to try to damage your camera or have them easier access to mess with it. And I have to charge it what every 10 hours if you use a full functionality of the camera yikes. This camera seems like it was really designed as a supplemental portable situation like a rapid response camera if you’re having problems on your property or you want to keep an eye on something temporarily or the situation where you don’t have time to put up a permanent this device will do the trick until you get something more permanent. Right now The outdoor camera to me is nothing more than a price conscience trail camera or sportsman camera.
If the outdoor can only record 12 seconds at a time and need time ( how long?) to cool down it would be really disappointing. I just checked my arlo 720 p. All recordings are longer than 12 seconds though most of them are between 14 to 22 seconds there were a few that were around 60 seconds.
I got my order of 1 pack and haven’t opened it up yet. Will go out of town and meanwhile see if there are some more comments and comparison agaist arlo which I currently have and intended to replace. If they are not positive I may just return it unopened. Hope wyze can come up something different soon.
