Outdoor Cam (WVOD1) will not connect to Base Station

Model WVOD1 Outdoor Cam will not connect to Base station. Here’s what I have done thus far:

  • No SD card are in either unit.
  • Firmware is up to date on Base.
  • Cam was charged for 24 hrs before attempting setup
  • When I press setup “pairing is in progress” is heard and now light blinks yellow and blue.
  • Base has blue light and is properly connected to network before setup attempted.
  • Cam is within 6 ft of base during setup.
  • Setup eventually times out with no connection created.
  • Held down Setup button on Cam for 20 seconds to attempt a factory reset.

Was the camera ever connected to the base previously ? Was it ever deleted from the app when it was not on line?

Yes it was connected previously…and has been deleted from app. Replaced with newer model last year, But now I would like to use it for a new temporary need.

If you deleted it from the app while it was not online connected to your wifi you will never be able to set it up again. Paper Weight.

Never heard of this. Why would Wyze allow this to happen? Never heard it mentioned as warning, etc on user instructions. Will any other wireless Wyze cams work with this base?

I don’t own one but from what I know is that if the cameras get stollen can’t be activated by the thief.

I have said for years that their should be a warning about deleting cam or base. The information is hidden here: I think it should be in the setup instruction received with the camera. The only cams that work with the base are the WCO version one or version two.
