On off timer on Wyze Color Bulb

I spent a little over four hours trying to set an on off time for a Wyze Color bulb. I got through to a human on tech support but had issues with his accent and he never could figure it out. This forum is my last effort before I pull out all my Wyze electronics. My bulb was working and someone in the house turned the power off. I put the power back on I see the bulb in the Wyze app and can turn it on and off and can change the color but if I go to settings and try to set an on-off time the bulb does not show up. The 5 year old YouTubes talk about going to “rules” which is not on the current app. If I go to Automations other bulbs I have programed are there but the one I am looking for is not there. Any suggestions??

Is this what you were trying to do?

Or this?

The bulb does not show up on timer or under automations. There is no longer rules either. So of a moot point now since I am getting rid of all Wyze products.

I understand the frustration with Wyze and the app. If you want to have the bulb on some sort of schedule, you need to create an automation with on/off times. There won’t be one there by default.

Welcome to the Forum, @donw1019!

I think @WildBill is asking some good questions for follow-up and clarification, because I’m having some difficulty understanding what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’ve attempted so far. For instance, you write that

What area of settings in the app do you mean? If you’re talking about the bulb’s settings, then I don’t understand what you mean about the bulb not being visible…because you’re already in the bulb’s settings.

I also happen to agree with you that the change in terminology from “Rules” to “Automations” seems arbitrary, and I think it’s unnecessarily confused a lot of people. That one still makes me scratch my head.

Since you’ve indicated that you can see the bulb in the Wyze app and can control it there, I think that’s a good sign, and if you can describe what your goal is here, then I think community members can probably walk you through that step-by-step.
