The MAC address of my 2 non functioning V1’s is
A4:DA:22:21:98:F2
A4:DA:22:21:9A:52

That of my non functioning v2 is
2C:AA:8E:2E:0A:22

I have just powered all of them up so Wyze gets a fresh request and is able to troubleshoot.

Just saw a memo that you get $3 off of the purchase of a V3 since V1 has reached EOL.

Is that true?

Just adding that I have 2 V2 cameras and one is doing this same thing where it won’t connect and has a flashing light, but my other one is still responding.

Does this relate to Wyze implementing a “4 cam Limit” with no warning, email notification or anything relating to letting the customer know they are changing the rules? I started with Wyze when Wyze started. v1… hub, sensors, outlets and bulbs, indoor outdoor, pan cams etc. First, they cancelled the “free version” with an option to pay nothing which I opted in for. That lasted a whole month. If I wanted a subscription, I would go with a more reputable company. I’m all about start-ups so I went with Wyze… oh almost 3 years ago. My mistake.

Now, after spending 2 days troubleshooting, uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting…blah blah only to find out (by accident) there is now a 4 CAM LIMIT!! I’m assuming this is for v1 and v2. Purchase a new hub for each 4 cams? Has Wyze lost their mind? Wyze is not a 5-star company. If there weren’t so many bugs in the app, the cams do not work 24-7 and mysteriously missing videos, I would consider staying, but when they merged with an investment group, that did it. I am heading to the iOS app store to leave a not so nice 1 star comment. Done with Wyze and will recommend it to no one… Upgrading to a REAL company that cares about their customers!

Here is what they say " There is a 4 camera limit to how many cameras can be streamed at the same time. More than that, and you’ll have to scroll to view each one." on the following link:

https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030146191-Group-and-Sort-Products

Not sure what the limit means though ? More than 4 cameras cannot be added to a single mobile app instance? Or to one group on the mobile ?

This topic is also being discussed here: Camera limit per (free) account + Multiple Locations - #3 by DanDaMan

Source?

I have seen nothing with my cameras or on these forums to indicate there is a limit for cameras.

There is, however, an issue with v1 cameras not working which is being worked on.

The only 4 camera limit I am aware of would be in WOC v1 and WOC v2 as to how many can connect to a base station and that has always been a max of 4.

If there are any other limits people are running into please explain them to me so I can get it to the proper team.

I routinely run 5 cameras in the Wyze app (not counting the one of my V1s experiencing the issues we’ve previously described) plus a doorbell and have had no such issue monitoring them in the app. Still waiting for that update to the V1 problem though…

I use 5 cams on my phone and tablet with no issue. I only have v2 and v3 cams.

So what’s the official way of getting V1 cameras working again? I stumbled on this thread after my camera wouldn’t connect trying to connect to wifi on vacation.

Hi. I, like many of you, have been with Wyze from the beginning. I came here because I noticed my V1 wasn’t working when I tried to set it up to look at my pet. I have a V1 and several V3’s. I think we should seriously discuss alternatives because they change their rules on us. Person detection, slow notifications, requiring internet (not just local wifi), continuous cam plus, cam plus pro, “cam plus plus pro lite” antics. I suspect this will only continue with V2’s and V3’s. What happens when they decide to let a bug help them discontinue V3’s? The only things I prefer are the price of the camera (which is increasing), starlight sensor, and the orientation possibilities because of the design of the camera. Has anyone found a proper replacement?

I just received an email response from tech support regarding not being able to add V1 cameras to the app: even with Wyze’s final troubleshooting recommendations (like everyone else here) .
“Even though we will no longer support the original Wyze Cam after February 1, 2022, you will still be able to use it”.
Looks like these cameras are dead.

I think you may be misinterpreting their words. They said “you will still be able to use it.” In the forums here, we’ve been told explicitly Wyze has not turned off the V1’s and is trying to understand what’s wrong with them so they can be fixed.

There’s a subtle but important difference between “no longer support[ing]” and maintaining compatibility with the Wyze system, at least for the time being. The implicit message in the forums is Wyze did not mean to disable these cameras and it was not intended.
