on a Cam V4 or Outdoor V2. Is there a way to silence the notification for a specific time period, or only make it active for a set time slot. Reason == we have several Cam v4 set to watch the Garage side door, and the house door, side driveway.. etc . When i am in the garage working, it constantly picks me up and announces " you are being recorded.. etc" and announces my presence via Alexa through out the Dots in the house. besides turning off monitoring & detection, is there a way to set these announcements to only occur say 5pm to 7 am ??.
The constant announcements of my movements in the garage, is driving the wife crazy,
I echo what @habib said, you can do an automation to accomplish this.
If you really want to get inventive, you can do something like this as well:
Contact Sensor - When you enter the garage disconnect a contact Sensor which has an Automation attached to it. The automation would read: When Contact Sensor is open, turn notifications off on the selected Camera’s. When the contact Sensor is closed turn notification back on. Assuming you have a Sense Hub with sensors.
Wyze Plug - you can do the same as the contact sensor but use the Wyze Plug. When on, turn off notifications, when off, turn notifications back on.
As @spamoni and @habib have said, automations is the way to go. I have a couple for that very purpose.
Disabling notifications is right in there, however in order to disable the “you are being recorded” I think you will need to use the action that disables motion detection during that time.
You can set a range of times, or sunrise to sunset, or just create manual ones that you activate/deactivate using an icon on your phone’s home screen.
Go to the camera and scroll down to where it says Turn on Motion Warning and put a check mark
Save
Go to start Time and Set it to 5pm
Go to End time and set it to 7am
Done. Now it will only run the Motion warning between 5pm and 7am
For me, I have the HMS subscription and I set several of my cameras to turn on the motion warning whenever the system arms, and turn off motion warning on those same cameras whenever the System is disarmed. Works great for me!
