I have three v4 cameras (on CamPlus unlimited), my android phone is the main/home account. I shared all three cameras to my wife’s phone, an iPhone. All three cameras have custom detection zones set up to ignore certain things or motion. My two original cameras I’ve had now for a few months work fine, we both get he notifications we’d expect as per the settings on each camera. I just added one outdoors and the custom detection zone is set to my driveway and ignore the adjacent road, however I have an SDcard and it’s set for continuous recording because I want to capture all street traffic, just not be notified of it. The camera notifies me correctly of just motion events in the driveway, just as the detection zone is set up, but on my wife’s phone she gets ALL of them. It sent 57 notifications yesterday whereas I got none. Essentially, her phone is ignoring the detection zone i have set up and is getting all motion and sound events.
Support told me to remove and re-share the device, I did and it worked only for a few quick tests and is back today to getting all the notifications. The weird thing is, the only difference in this camera and my other two that notify her properly, is the SDCard continuous recording.
Any thoughts? I’ve seen similar gripes but not sure if I could add some specificity to the issue. Thanks!
I don’t use iOS, and I wouldn’t expect microSD recording to be a factor here. If your wife is logging into her iPhone using her own Wyze account (I imagine so if you’re sharing Cam access), then my first thought is about her ability to manage her own notifications as a shared-access user, a feature that was introduced fairly recently for some Cams (including Cam v4):
Maybe she needs to review her own notification settings in the Wyze app for that Cam v4? I’m not sure what this exact process is or what it looks like as a shared-access user, because I use the owner account for my own Wyze Cams.
Thanks for the reply! I will check in on her app version but she told me last night it had no updates available, but I will check the version number you provided. She previously told me she could only turn notifications on/off, that there were no other custom modifications to make. I’ll check and report back if needed,
My android app version is 3.19.0 (935) - newer than what you posted?
Right. All versions including and following v3.15.x should include that feature that allows shared-access users to manage their own notifications for certain Cams, so if she’s “current” with her iOS app then that’s probably the first thing I’d try to check. I just mentioned that particular topic and version because that’s the earliest production channel app version I’m aware of where that feature appeared.
That’s my understanding, as well, based on what I’ve seen other users report. I don’t think the shared-access user can do things like select only specific notification types (like if a Cam is on a subscription and the user wants only Vehicle detection notifications, for instance). I think at this point that feature is limited to off/on control.

Yes, OK I went to vote, hopefully that works because that would seem to solve the problem, giving a shared user (or any shared user i select) the ability to control not global on/off notifications but control the individual notification types. Thanks, looks like we’ll wait to see what happens…
I wouldn’t hold my breath, because that’s one of the more popular Wishlist topics with a lot of requests and suggestions about how users think permissions should work. I know last year one of the cofounders posted this:
I guess technically they have made some progress on this by giving shared-access users the ability to manage their own notifications settings in the app release a couple of months ago, but I think they still have a long way to go in order to satisfy additional requests in that particular topic. Even so, I think it’s good to look for Wishlist topics that already discuss other products or features that might interest you, because my understanding is that those topics are supposed to be monitored by Wyze for votes and comments and factored into decisions for development.
