Notifications not working - Push notifications ON

I finally got the email event notifications to work - the operation is not what I was expecting, but I think it is working per the Wyze design. I have to back and read the user manual several times.
Here are some key points about the event notification:

I do not see any way to have regularly scheduled pictures. At my cabin, my current cell phone emails me a picture of the living room every 60 minutes.

A motion event can only be triggered once within a 5 minute period. Each motion event is a minimum of 12 seconds, even if the motion only lasted 1 second. So if you have several motion events within a 5 minute period, you are only going to see a single event.

The motion events are stored in the cloud for a max of 14 days. Motion events are not stored under the Album tab of the Wyze app. If you want a permanent record of the event, then you can download the event to your cell phone. I do not see any direct way to get a video of a motion event from the Wyze cam to my PC.

Email alerts of motion events do not have a picture of the actual event. You have to use the Wyze app on your cell phone to see the actual video of the event. The size of each email alert is about 20KB.

The motion event will be shown in the Event screen - however, the screen is not automatically refreshed upon an arrival of a new event. You either have to select a different day then go back to today’s date, or you have to touch today’s date in order to refresh the screen.

You can get email alerts for motion events by installing the IFTTT app. Please watch the previous listed YouTube video. The app is easy to install and setup. On my cell phone, I use the Gmail app for all emails. I have a gmail account and several accounts under CenturyLink, In the initial setup of IFTTT, I selected the Gmail icon for the email app and entered my gmail address. That did not work. On each motion event trigger, I got an error .about a problem with the gmail service. Under the gmail icon, I then changed my email address to a CenturyLink address. That also produced the same error. I then went back into the setup of IFTTT and selected the “email” icon as opposed to the “gmail” icon. I then selected a CenturyLink email address. That worked.

For a final test, place the Wyze cam next to where you are working on your PC. There should be enough motion to trigger the motion alert. On your email client, you should see an email alert once every five minutes.

Hope that helps.

Same issues. Events are being captured, & the green box is active, however I am not receiving notifications on my iPhone 8

I use 5 wyze cameras, I use android tablet and phone, I used to get push notifications on both fine for past 6 months, all of the sudden as of saturday june 1, events still get recorded such as motion, but push notifications dont work at all on neither device, no settings were changed, rechecked all notification settings as well.

Had the same problem. There is a bell icon at top of screen. If there is a line through it you will not receive notifications. You just have to tap the bell to remove the line and you will start to receive notifications.

when notification does not work, tapping bell icon does.not.help me either.

try below works!
open app - account - app settings - notification!

Yeah, mine doesn’t send push notifications or record anything it seems. My album is empty despite many instances where I’ve walked through the detection zone. Sensitivity turned up. Pretty useless device unless you want to watch your house being broken into in real time and take screenshots along the way… this thread is almost 9 months old btw. Using 2 Wyze cams (the small cube shaped ones). Disappointed.

I just got my cameras a week ago and everything was fine until I stopped receiving push notifications about 2 days ago. Everything is fine with settings in the app and on my phone. App and camera are up to date. I’m android. My husband uses iPhone and his has been fine. I tried restarting the camera, logged out and back in. Really frustrating. I emailed support but from reading some of these sounds like a fix might take awhile. (I do not use ifttt)

I have the same problem to, I think it the optimized power mode causing the wyze app to stop running.Ever since android updated they software. I"ve been having problem with notification coming 2 to 3 hour late. Find a way to cut off optimus mode.

I wanted to try the solution @Drift gave but scared of doing the ADB part so I just disabled the Battery Optimization for the Wyze app only. Been receiving real-time notifications ever since.

Open the Settings app on your phone.
Tap Battery.
Tap the menu button and choose “Battery optimization.”
Tap the dropdown menu at the top of the screen and select “All apps.”
Tap the Wyze app, then select “Don’t optimize.”

Settings for battery optimizations seems to vary per manufacturer since they tweak the Android OS to their liking. This is from my ASUS, which I think is under the Android One implementation. My friend’s P30 got this under Special Access in Apps. Another (Oppo I think) just searched ‘Doze’ in Settings.

Do i need an SD card for push notifications?

Also how to i access the cloud?

Click “event” you’ll see all cloud clips, no need to have a SD card for the cloud.

So there is a little icon next to the . . . at the upper right that looks like a bell. Mine had a slash through it. Touched it, slash went away and I immediately started receiving push notifications.

Glad to see you got it working

This is getting frustrating! After Person Detection update, now Notifications stopped working, Clip saved to SD card, but no 12 sec clip to cloud anymore. Droid settings all correct, Wyze settings correct per advise on this forum. Since this notification problem has surfaced before, don’t know if its related to the Person Detection firmware update or some other issue. Beginning to think these 6 cameras will have to go back as there are too many bugs. Its a shame because seems like good company, product & app great when working, nice community of users but life is too short to keep having to reset and communicate issues.

Have you power-cycled the cameras? There have been some reports that a power-cycle has been required by some to get events/notifications working again after the firmware update.

See that a lot of people is having the same issue… Got a new camera, firmware was updated and Push notifications are not working at all, tried many different configurations and even like that no results. Sometimes it comes very late but just 1 or 2 max.
Events are being recorded to the SD card tho. Any solution for this issue? (Android)

This is starting to become beyond ridiculous. I have not been able to receive any notifications since Nov-18. Wyze reps are quick to replay the record of the troubleshooting steps and then disappear after a person states that they tried them all. What’s up Wyze?

@Type1, could you provide your support ticket number so we can ask Wyze to look into it further?

Maby posting this here will get a better result… I recently installed the home starter kit. I receive teh notifications for the cam but not receiving any notifications for the door and motion sensors. The sensors are working as they are showing when triggered but not sending notifications. And yes i have notifications checked in the settings
