Not going into setup mode Wyze cam v3

Both my cameras have died over night on the same day. Coincidence :thinking: I have had problems for the past 4 years with the camera having to re-add several times and note they are suddenly nor going in to the setup mode. When I press and hold turn setup button for 10+ seconds the red led switches off for a second and comes back with the red led. I have tried to update the firmware using the sd card with the latest update installed to the root folder as well. Didn’t seem like there’s a problem with the button either. What could be the issue here?

Have you tried a quick press of the Setup button?

I think pressing a holding the Setup button is for manually flashing firmware.

Actually it’s for factory reset of the cam and can also facilitate flashing firmware.

Factory reset…press and hold the setup button for 20-30 seconds (without any SD card in camera).

Flashing firmware…press and hold the setup button while powering on the camera. Hold until status light changes.

Thank you. This helped. 1/2 camera is working now and the other is stuck on scanning QR at setup stage.

pressing foot over 20sec allowed it go into setup mode. Now 1/2 camera is stuck on QR scanning mode.

Try holding the v3 camera back further from the QR code. Also make sure the entire QR code is displayed on your phone screen.

It worked sometimes once I finish the setup when I turned it off and back on again it won’t load. Calls for trouble shooting and I have add it again. It’s a whole loop. I think theres some issue with the power on these cam V3 s. Must be some hardware issue. I’m considering these 2 cams dead.

Have you tried swapping power supplies?
