I downloaded the Beta this morning. I am getting all of the notifications! They really are working on this guys. Have faith.
Also, the new interface allowing you to pick… well I am not sure I am supposed to say, because its beta. Just suffice it to say its freaking awesome.
You have to remember this company is not a HUGE company. Its a local business up here ( seattle area ).
The fact that they respond and take action to fix the issues its a HUGE bonus for me.
Also: lets be honest, they are are not $150 cameras with 10 years of production under their belt, so you have to cut them a little slack, LOL
They said in a post up there somewhere that the new version would be in production in two weeks and that was several days ago. It looks like they are actually ahead of schedule
Update… I was finally getting notifications fine after clearing data, then I turned off cell data so that I was on WiFi only, and notifications stopped coming in. So far, with cell data turned back on, I am still not getting notifications. (Well, what did I expect for $20?)
something interesting happened. i deleted the camera, powered it off, restarted my phone and attempted to reinstall. i know my network passwords. the app tells you to connect to 2.4, but everytime i tried it told me ‘network credentials were incorrect - could not connect’. i tried 5 different times. i then repeated the procedure and logged into my 5 ghz network and i am now getting notifications. i have no clue as to why this is now working. some of you high techs may understand.
update - ONLY SOME NOTIFICATIONS - as opposed to NONE.
As a former front line support person, the posts threatening Amazon reviews or talking about bad ratings don’t help solve problems, just a FYI to my fellow users out there. Also, if you’re using a $20 camera as a “very important camera” in your business, you’ve got some deeper problems, just sayin’.
That being said! Using the Wyze app on a LG VG30 running oreo, everything works with the exception of notifications. They do work on an iPhone that my wife is using that is logged in on the same account. I have an ADB environment setup on my computer at home and can pull logs with alarm events if you would like them for your devs. Let me know and I can them pulled.
I have a Samsung GS7 which is getting some notifications, and a ZTE Axon & which received one notification when I first installed the app today, but hasn’t worked since.
The GS7 would show there was a video clip, but wouldn’t download it for viewing, whereas the ZTE wouldn’t give me notifications, but would let me view video clips.
Inexplicably, the GS7 is now downloading the clips, but now BOTH phones aren’t registering motion, let alone pushing notifications.
All of this took place within a matter of about 10 minutes with no settings changes on my end.
My trouble ticket has been acknowledged, but I’m disappointed in the lax response to this.
I saw on April 4th a WyzeCam tech said they’d have another update out in a “couple weeks.” That was 6 days ago, so I guess that clock is still ticking. Wow.
Since V2 of this camera was delayed for so long due to a manufacturing issue, I’m not very impressed with this continued problem. I may as well not even received the camera since it’s pretty useless right now without push notifications.
Can there be reference post on the top of the forums or something like that so people know if some of the services are down, also are there any official steps we can take to restart notifications, like step 1 unplug camera, step 2 reset phone…Its annoying not knowing what to do and to search all over the forums what someone did or did not do…
