Anyone besides myself having issues with the 4K Cam Pan V4 randomly losing the wi-fi connection.
After two week of low temps and constant rain mine will no longer announce “ready to connect” upon attempting setup.
Power cycliing and/or reset button attempts only cause camera to rotate, then flashing blue led followed by red led…and thats it!!
No ready to connect is ever announced so setup can proceed.
Was installed on a porch and even though rainwas constant it was not really exposed much to the elements. Temps also dipped below forty for the first time before the camure failed.
Is it mounted with the cam on top or on bottom? My Panv3 had very similar symptoms when mounted upside down under an eave, it had gotten water inside it. Leaving it in a bag of rice for a day brought it back to life, and I mounted it right side up.
Is that solid or flashing red? If it’s flashing red, then you could try the in-app setup even with the absence of the “ready to connect” voice prompt. I’ve been able to do that with a misbehaving Cam Pan v3, anyway. If it’s solid red but unresponsive, then there’s a different Help Center article with some steps to try. Depending on the behavior you’re seeing now, I’d consider trying a few things:
Take the camera indoors, closer to your Wi-Fi source.
Make sure you’re trying to power it with the included adapter or a known good USB power adapter with 5V ⎓ 2A output.
If you think the Cam has failed, then it’s new enough that I’d go ahead and contact Support, too. They’ll probably suggest some additional troubleshooting, but I would expect them to replace it for you if it’s determined to be a faulty unit.
