Has anyone been experiencing issues with their Cam Pan v3 camera? This is my second one, and it has failed the same exact way as the 1st one. It loses connection and will not go back online.
All 3 of mine are working, just updated the 3rd one to the latest firmware.
Is yours by chance mounted upside down (cam on bottom) outdoors? I had one like this that got water in it even though it was protected pretty well from rain. I mounted the replacement right side up and haven’t had any issues.
The one that got wet was actually revived by being sealed in bag of rice for a day, though not sure I’d trust it for full time use, it is a spare/portable one now.
What are the symptoms when you power cycle it, does it go through the motions then sit with the flashing blue light (can’t connect to wifi) or is it doing something else? Mine would stay red and reboot itself periodically.
Another thought is maybe the power outlet is not great or the power is noisy/subject to brownouts and the power adapter is getting burned out. Have you tried another 2000ma or greater adapter to see if that’s it?
Thanks for the reply! It’s installed indoors and is right side up. Whenever I would try to view through the app, it would say something about not being able to connect. I have 2 other Wyze cam v3’s that work perfectly fine.
I did read somewhere that there was a firmware update being made to correct this issue. I’ll power it back up and update the firmware. Hopefully that will do it!
There was a firmware update (the one before the latest one) that seemed to help some of them reconnect after losing wifi. I never personally had that issue on any of mine, but yeah try the latest firmware and see. But of course that assumes you can get it to connect, if not you’d have to update it using SD card.
Perhaps this one has a worse signal than your others, i.e. on the fringe of usable wifi. I’m guessing those may have been the ones experiencing the reconnect issue, ones that were frequently going on and offline.
How are you powering the camera? The pan v3s are finicky with power. What cable and length are you using? What power brick are you using? What have you done for troubleshooting?
Yeah, there have actually been two released so far this year specifically to address connection issues:
