Here’s his absolutely accurate post to appreciate or trash.
Draft Post (Forum Style)
I’ve been digging into what “Complete Motion Detected” means on Wyze cams (including the newer Floodlight Pro / v2), since some of us still get those notifications even when we only want AI alerts like Person or Vehicle. Here’s the clearest explanation I’ve found, with references from Wyze staff and recent user experiences:
What “Complete Motion Detected” Actually Means
It’s just Wyze’s label for “Other Motion” — i.e., general motion detected that doesn’t match AI categories (person, vehicle, pet, package).
This was confirmed in multiple Wyze forum threads. Example from July 13, 2024:
“The title ‘Complete Motion Detected’ … means that ‘other’ motion was detected.”

Why Do I Sometimes See “Person + Vehicle” Together?
Wyze AI only triggers on moving objects.
But if a moving object (say, a person) is detected near a stationary one (like a parked car), the AI may tag both.
Wyze’s own Product Manager for Floodlight Pro explained this on Reddit (June 2023):
“The camera only reports moving AI objects… if there is a parked vehicle in the frame and a person moves, the event may tag both the person and the vehicle.”

That’s why you sometimes see a garbage truck + rider or person + vehicle all in the same notification.
Fix for Unwanted “Complete Motion” Alerts
If you only want AI notifications (Person, Vehicle, Pet, Package), you need to turn off Other Motion notifications. Wyze buried the toggle, but here’s how users confirmed it works:
-
Go to Event Recording.
-
Temporarily switch from Smart Detection Events → All Events.
-
Go to Customize Detections → uncheck Notify for “Other Motion.”
-
Switch back to Smart Detection Events.
Reported working for Floodlight Pro in July 2024:

Summary
“Complete Motion Detected” = Other Motion (non-AI movement).
Person + Vehicle can show up together if motion is triggered by one but another is in the frame.
To stop the generic alerts, disable “Other Motion” notifications using the All Events → Customize Detections trick, then switch back.
Floodlight Pro’s onboard AI logic avoids false triggers from parked cars alone—they only get tagged if a moving object sets things off.
That’s the most up-to-date info (as of mid-2024 through 2025). If anyone has newer firmware experiences, feel free to chime in.
