No doorbell cam on monitoring tab

On the Monitoring tab of the app, I cannot add my Doorbell Cam v2. Am I missing something?

What is it you’re attempting? I just added my Video Doorbell v2 to a page on the Monitoring tab by doing this:

  1. Navigated to the Monitoring tab in the Wyze app.
  2. Tapped the camera & pencil icon beneath the view panes to enter edit mode for the Monitoring tab’s pages. This took me to a screen that says “Sort Cameras” at the top.
  3. Dragged my Video Doorbell v2 from the AVAILABLE CAMERAS section at the bottom of that screen to a blank spot on an existing page in the PAGES section. The primary page had only 3 cameras, so I dragged this one into the 4th position.
  4. Tapped the button at the upper-left corner to go back to the main Monitoring tab.

Is your Video Doorbell v2 behaving normally otherwise? Are you viewing other cameras on the Monitoring tab?

Thank you. You helped me figure out the issue. It is actually a problem with the way the app renders on my Galaxy zfold6. I normally view the monitoring tab with the phone folded open since I have more screen real estate. In that mode the available cameras section at the bottom does not appear and I am unable to scroll down. If I close the phone, I can scroll down and see it.
I’m guessing about that is a bug in the app.

Does that mean you were able to get it to work?

I’m not a developer, so I don’t know what’s necessary to account for all the different screen geometries, but reading the Forum I get the impression that there are significant differences on the Dark Side that cause problems for iPadOS users that iOS users don’t experience. I guess with the plethora of platforms and flexibility device manufacturers have with modifying Android, there are bound to be issues specific to certain device types on that side, too.

Sort of. I can’t fix it but I was able to work around it by using the app with the phone closed. That said, I think someone at Wyze has to make some changes in the app to be compatible with foldable phones in their unfolded mode. Any idea how to reliably report this to Wyze?

I think the key word in your question is “reliably”, and I struggle with that, because I try reporting issues to Support with supporting Log IDs and ask them to pass information to the relevant engineers in order to get the problem on their radar and, hopefully, lead to a solution at some point for all users experiencing those particular issues. That’s one thing you could do, but I don’t know how effective that is.

If you’re willing to test, then another thing you could consider is joining the Beta Program. (There’s a Help Center section with more information.) The way that works on the Android side makes it relatively easy to enter/leave the program at will, so you can go back to using the production app if you want. If you do that, then you’ll want to enable Tracking for the Beta category here in the Forum, because that’s where they drop announcements about new versions of beta apps, and they want feedback in those topics so they know where to concentrate fix efforts before advancing an app version to Release Candidate or production status.

A while back, @WyzeJasonJ posted a call for more beta testers on the iOS side because apparently they have more limits because of the way Apple manages things, and I suggested there and in other places that they probably should do specific recruitment of iPadOS users because of the significant UI/UX differences between iOS and iPadOS. Maybe they should attempt a similar emphasis to get more input from foldable phone users, because it seems like you’re facing usage challenges that likely aren’t being addressed by users of regular non-folding mobile devices.

Thanks for the info.
