An Idea for Wyze Cam 360 Degrees
Can view & record 360
The technology / design has been out there for some years.
This would allow a camera to view/record in 360 degrees.
Yes, 360 degree image will be a great feature to have. I donât know why Wyze camera daisy chain feature was removed in Wyze Cam v3. It comes in quite handy when people need to put two or more cameras nearby without having to run multiple power cables from the outlets.
I may be missing something but if a phone can remote connect to a drone for miles with their own custom connection. WYZE should have a new kind of Hub that will allow many V4 solar powered cameras to be all over the place.
please add temperature reading, like how the time and date reads on the photoâs, have it read the temp as well. It would be great if the outdoor camera had a port to add external temp monitor so I could see temp of water at my lake.
Great idea. Iâd be fine with separate add on Wyze temp sensors that can link to the cameras like the original Wyze sensors they discontinued. Since they are marketing the HOME alarm system they are integrating features there with no foresight into the needs of cam only users.
For now try the sonoff temp sensors. I have 2 ⌠one sits with sensor 3 feet in water(water temp) and another 3 feet above water(air temp).
Would be nice to be able to adjust the exposure, brightness and contrast of the cameras. Sometimes in certain lighting the video is over exposed.

Camera overheating â notify and prevent self destruction
Concept:
Enable camera to notify when ambient temperature exceeds specs. Enable camer to turn off before it self destructs.
Use Case
The Specs indicate a V3 can operate up to 120 F. In Summer interior spaces without AC might exceed that value (e.g. my garage in the SW desert).
Implementation:
Camera could have a series of self protection modes.
Eventually it will just have to shut down. It would be helpful if these adjustments would trigger an alert.
SD lock into camera so no one can come along and steal your SD out and delete everything your
Hi I wish the Wyze cameras had a option to lock the SD card into the camera. I recently had someone come into my place and had taken all my sds out and now they are empty. I have them for when I am away from home the camera records locally when the wifi is out or you are using a hotspot. I use a hotspot so I leave SD card in for when Iâm gone but someone was able to take all of these out of my cameras. So I thought it would be awesome if only the main owner can have access to eject them not just anyone.
Why? The cameras weigh a few ounces and the a-hole can just as easily (actually, far MORE easily) take the whole thing. Obviously the better approach is keeping a-holes out of your place to begin with.
Cause they wouldnât take the whole camera thatâs too obvious and I donât let them in they come in when Iâm not here. But the SD card should lock because people mainly use the sd card to record locally when he have no internet so they donât miss anything!
Okay I guess. You do know that Wyzecams really wonât record to SD card if theyâre booted without Internet, right?
No I didnât know this that do u mean like if I reset or unplug the camera it wonât?
Yes. If there is no Internet when a camera boots, it canât phone home and will not work as expected, including SD recording. Or so I understand.
360° (Panoramic) Cam
I would like to see Wyze look into a Panoramic/360° camera. These are great cameras for covering a larger area (eg. monitoring your whole garage or room in your house) and when used in conjunction with Wyze Cam would have value added coverage.

WYZE CAM V4 - IMO List:
⢠USB-C : Could allow for more connectivity (i.e. USB-C to Ethernet)
⢠New way to view multiple cams at once : An under taking yes but with the former, being a big advancement as far as âfuture proofingâ goes, it could allow for a network with area in the app or browser app to view all your cameras at once. Especially with Windows 11 really going in on Subsystem for Android
⢠PoE : Talk about all in one! Having USB-C being apart of the equation, you could even go further and have PoE in the mix to further expand the possibilities of all the later cams to come.
Iâm sure this would be somewhat of an undertaking, unless this was in the pipeline at some point that is. I know the goal has really been more about âease of useâ and less of the technical like other options on the market but to that I would say that if anyone could simplify the âhow-toâ of it and the potential for complexity, WYZE could do it for sure! Iâve seen the app go from kind of a headache to navigate to where it is now which is in a MUCH better space. The old detection select to the grid setup that it is now is proof of what I am saying.
All in all, I am excited for whatâs to come from WYZE!
4K Resolution
Yep, I did a search, and all the 4K I found was 1.4K comments and silliness.
1080 just isnât enough. I must have more!.
(I have 10 Wyzecams, 3 are black. )
3 point inside. All the rest are looking out, from inside, too cold out, no time for that!

I think they would have an issue with compression at the point of 4K and connectivity. If I remember right 4K requires at least 10 megs upload, which some people do not have.
Yep! Streaming 4k would kill my ISP connection. I only have 15 down and 5 up.
