APP versions later than v3.7.8.702 will install on Bluestacks but fail to load video. Both live and SD video get stuck on “step 1 of 3: Starting up a secure connection”. Have CAM V3, Video Doorbell v2, and Bulb Cam all at latest firmware levels. Bluestacks is on latest version and have tried APP with both Android 11 and 13 instances. Live and SD video work on v3.7.8.702 and earlier versions but fail on any newer version of Android APP. Has anyone else had problems with this?
Yep. Cam v3s won’t load. Cam v2 will.
Cam Plus cloud clips play fine.
Just tried latest beta APP v3.9.0.729. Works fine on my Samsung phone. Bluestacks still fails to load video. All cams at latest firmware levels. Cam V3 and Video Doorbell V2 get stuck on step 1 of 3. Bulb Cam get stuck on step 3 of 3.
FWIW, I have v3s, a v2 and a coupla OGs. With v3s, this works (Live view loads):
- Access cam page from Devices or Favorites tab (or a cam Group)
- Play a Cam Plus clip from the cam page
- Tap Go Live
OGs and v2s work without the dance above.
OGs play Live view
Cam Plus clips
Maybe SD footage (no card in these)
Cam group
v2s play Live view
Cam Plus clips
SD footage
Latest APP version Android v3.7.10.745 also fails to load video. Bluestacks and all camera firmware at latest levels.
Umm… help please???
This is how I monitor my cameras when I’m working at my computer! I am using Cam v3s across the board.
However, this just started happening to me AFTER I updated all of my cam’s firmware last night to the latest version.
I would REALLY like to get this resolved ASAP!
Oh crap… this worked for me! Thanks for posting this trick!
That said, I REALLY hope Wyze fixes this as doing this is a pain! It takes at least 7 clicks in-app to do what should normally just take 1!
Same problem. Customer support said it’s my phone and I should get an updated phone. Not sure that is the issue because I only have the problem with two cameras, not all of them. Anyone else told it was their phone?
So do we think that is this intentional on Wyze’s part? Are there any other emulator options?
Ran into the same issue. Thanks for the hot tip, but didn’t work on our versions.
For others looking on workarounds, Windows Phone Link is what we’re looking at besides downgrading the firmware for the V3s.
