New palm lock user

Installed a palm lock today 11/23/25. Took a bit longer than I anticipated. because the door that I was attaching to had round holes in the door and the frame, I used a rotozip to enlarge the frame hole. Installation was going smoothly until I got to attaching the back piece. Had to use a leftover long bolt to get the back lined up and attached. After attaching with the long bolt, I was able to forcefully push the back piece into place and attach it with the correct bolts. When I first added the palm lock to my WYZE app on android, the app notified me that an update was available, which I loaded. So far so good. The bolt extends and retracts with no binding and opening with my palm seems to work reliably.
I have a number of WYZE cameras and have been impressed with the quality and price.

Welcome to the Forum, @wb3v!

I also had to make some door jamb modifications when I installed my Palm Lock. My previous electronic deadbolt lock had a bolt latch with a slight taper to it, and that seemed to help guide it into the strike in the jamb, so I noticed some friction with Palm Lock’s bolt actuation after I installed it. Once I got around to mortising the jamb so that I could install the dust box and strike plate that are included with Palm Lock, I found that the bolt’s actuation seemed much more smooth and easy. I’m definitely a fan of the palm vein scanning now.

Thanks for taking the time to share a positive experience! :+1:

Heh. Thanks. :+1:

That and the user card background image are subject to change. I’ve been busy with other stuff lately and haven’t had any new ideas for it.
