Palm lock not working with palm tattoos

Anyone else with palm tattoos have issues with the palm lock? I can’t get mine to accept my palms but my partners were accepted no problem so I know it is t the lock itself.

Welcome to the Forum, @Bigwhiteguy!

I haven’t seen this issue reported elsewhere and don’t have any experience with that, though I have seen problems with registering palm veins when attempting to add a user and have found that rotating my palm ~15° or so from upright has helped.

What, specifically, have you tried? Are you having difficulty with the initial registration scan (adding your palm to the lock), subsequent reading, or both?

So I’m having trouble with the initial palm reading set up. I’ve tried every angle and distance possible, daytime, night time, nothing works. I had my girl friend put her palm in front of it and it worked immediately.

Thanks for the clarification. I have some follow-up questions:

  • Does your girlfriend also have palm tattoos?
  • Other than failing to register your palm veins, does the device seem to function as expected?
  • What did Support say when you contacted them?
  • Have you read and followed the steps in the “Wyze Palm Lock Palmprint Troubleshooting” article? (Now that I see that, I think they should probably rewrite that article and any other references to “palmprint”, because my understanding is that this device is supposed to use infrared to scan the vein pattern beneath the skin and that it doesn’t actually have anything to do with a “print” in the “fingerprint” sense.)
  • What firmware version is installed on your Palm Lock?

If nothing else is resolving this issue for you, then I’d be inclined to factory reset and try again. I’m also going to ping someone at Wyze for input and possible suggestions, because this is an intriguing issue, and I don’t have any idea whether or not this kind of scenario was present in testing.
