My V4 cameras do not pick up, push notify or record gunshots

My V4 cameras do not pick up, push notify or record gunshots. They went on for hours, loud and audible in my home but cam V4 with cam plus and gunshots checked doesn’t catch any. There appears to be a noise generator creating a frequency that cancels them out? Since, all my cameras pick up constant white noice that’s inaudible to me yet it floods the cameras, live or playback. I turned record sound to 1 in detection settings and turned record sound off in advanced settings but the white noise is constant?

Maybe a defect, my v4 doesn’t pick up any white noise. Could also be electrical interference from something nearby.

Are you using the power supply and cable that came with it?

Have you modified all 5 screens needed for sound? Granted there is a duplication, but listed separately in the cam settings.

Yes, all five. I have as a rule. Main reason I pay for WYZE cam plus! I have more boxes checked including gunshots. My devices have not once picked up gunshots and rarely any other sound?

Interestingly, since discovery of a flood of scratchy random white noise I placed slider in lowest setting and have turned all sound off (in all cameras) and the white noise still dominates the live view and playback camera views.

Is someone playing army invader with my space?

The only sound I may have recordable are the dogs barking outside. Maybe holiday fireworks. I’ll try experimenting and see what kind of results I get. If not too late, you may have to settle on returning for warranty replacement.

Reading this topic makes me want to take a Cam v4 on a “troubleshooting” trip to a firing range.

Also…. I make correction. The live view has the noise. Today playback is noise free.

Thank you! Some are covered but hard to believe all have this same glitch? Could it be my ATT combo router? I bought two WYZE mesh router pro but no success getting either to connect to my phone.

Yes, using proper PS and cable. The cameras are spread out on multiple floors and two buildings. All doing it?

That’s very odd and makes me wonder if it is some sort of issue with your playback device/app rather than the cams themselves. My v4 is pretty much silent with no background noise unless it is really windy, but it picks up voices and nearby sounds fine. I have noticed though that sometimes I have to toggle the speaker off and on to get the sound to start coming through, and sometimes it gets out of synch with the video, but I suspect that is because the wifi signal where the cam is isn’t great (and it is right under a metal mailbox further blocking the signal). But have never heard static.

When viewing the live view, you don’t have the microphone icon in the app turned on do you? That could cause feedback if you also have the speaker (listen) enabled (wouldn’t think it would be static but could be).

It gets a bit confusing but the microphone icon is to talk from your phone/device to the cam (it is the microphone on your phone, not the cam). The speaker icon is to listen to what the cam is recording (again, the speaker on your phone and not the cam). Microphone should be off unless you’re actively talking to someone.
