My outdoor cam only, is taking still pics instead of video when motion is detected

I tried the Reddit group but no luck, so trying here.

My outdoor cam only, is taking still pics instead of video when motion is detected. This was never the case before.

I logged into my account and, although I have Cam+ unlimited that I pay for, I found this single camera on it’s own account, apparently charging me for a separate account @$2.99/ mo. Why I have no idea… But, it still had Cam+ on it, my other 5 cameras were on the unlimited plan. The monthly plan said it Web subscription for 1 camera - expires March 2, 2024 which is odd because I have no idea why it was on it’s own account. Makes no sense. I wonder how long it’s been like this and charging me.

Anyhoo… I moved this camera back to my unlimited account where it was and belongs. Still it’s taking still shots instead of video like it did before.

How can I fix this so the outdoor cam takes video again on motion detection?

Thanks!

Are you sure its not ones for sound? Having sound enabled (clarification: sound event recording) will take only photos for those events. This has been the only way I’ve seen photos show up. If the sound is high enough and the others are low enough etc then you may only ever see photos.

No, they’re for motion.

None of these play when I click on them. The ones without a thumbnail just show nothing when I click on them.

Sorry for my delay in getting here and I apologize for the issues you are running into. It looks like your cam is recording videos, they say they are 5 minutes long, if it was giving you still pics it would be a bit different. It looks like what is happening is you are unable to retrieve the video itself. When you click on them do you get any kind of error?

This was resolved by rebooting the base
