Multi-Cam Timeline: How do YOU use it?

My “Yes” is solid if the screen recording has some explanatory text and/or a competent voiceover telling me what’s being demonstrated, and it gets bonus points for showing screen taps, swipes, etc. Without that context, some screen recordings just leave me playing a guessing game. “What am I supposed to be looking at here?” One example that comes to mind is last year’s Feedback needed on new Event Detail Page! topic, and that was essentially my very first question in the second post.

BREAKING!!
Things have been done before! :smiley_cat:

@UserCustomerGwen did a how-to series  back when Wyze was just a tyke!

Crazy guy who likes to automate made a ~40 min video on the earlier (pre-3.x ) app!

I wasn’t aware of the long video from an outside source, but I guess I assumed () you were familiar with the early videos from Gwendolyn and Dave.

Maybe you were and are just dropping links for the benefits of others. :+1:

I could maybe see Kyle doing more of this type of thing.

Discovered this yesterday:

When viewing a cam group on the Multi-Cam Timeline, either Live or Events, tapping a quadrant will display an overlay with a cam icon in the upper left corner. Tapping it will take you to the full Live View of that cam (where you can also access SD card Playback at bottom.)

Both Live and SD Playback views have a shield icon next to the settings gear that returns you to Timeline view where you left off.

The link-to-Live-View is also present in the full-screen 4-up landscape view mentioned here

I think I’m missing or misunderstanding something here. I thought the shield icon was like a subscription indicator, and I see it as a camera icon overlay (similar to Forum “Flair”).

Hmm, maybe because I’m a Cam Unlimited subscriber and you’re not - or I donno.

I get a Get shield icon as a rebel non-subscriber.

Thanks, Steve-o.

Here’s my one:

This is on Cam Unlimited, but it’s showing a shield as a device overlay (like a “badge” or “flair”), not as a tappable control near the gear.

shield overlay

:man_shrugging:

Also I’m going to pretend that your “Frt” camera is for capturing farts.

Thanks for the credit!

Sad. I was wondering the same thing.

If your :brain: is going to the same places mine does, then sadness is definitely an appropriate response.

Odd. Looks like a v4, maybe? My v3s don’t have a cam icon to the left of the cam name on the Live View screen. :man_shrugging: .

You may do that (accompanied by Steve’s mind.)

Yeah, I don’t have any Cam v3s. I see the same overlay on other camera icons, though: Cam OGs, Cam Pan v3s.

With all due respect, I wasn’t asking for permission. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
