I get it. I think it happens all the time in meatspace, which is why @Earl.Automation and @peepeep mentioned 
[1] trying to give compliments for good service. I believe they’re trying to provide some balance.
I think it also happens all-too-frequently online (not just in the areas of products and services), where a vocal minority can hold sway over…take your pick. It seems to be a critical element of the so-called “outrage culture”.
